What's next?

Moving Day

Jace Holland groaned in utter boredom as he lifted yet another box up off the floor, putting it on the bed. He looked across the room at one of his best friends Zack Ravers doing the same. Well, best male friends. Chloe and Amy were possessive of the best friend title.

"This is hell." Jace complained dramatically, and Zack glanced over his shoulder quizzically.

"I mean, it's boring, but it's a few hours of unpacking, and then we're going to the Moving Party." Zack chuckled.

"Hey, don't ruin my complaining." Jace complained, making Zack laugh.

"Suit yourself. I'm almost done though, how are you not?" Zack asked. Jace's phone buzzed, and Jace abandoned the box on his bed without second thought.

"Ah, that's how." Zack said to deaf ears as Jace read the messages on his phone.

This is hell. Hazel Hightower had messaged him, making Jace laugh.

Absolutely. Guess you aren't having fun? Jace replied.

Wow, give him a prize. I hate unpacking all my shit. Hazel responded instantly, and it was like he could hear her grumpiness through the words.

Not to sound like I don't agree, but you could have not packed quite so many clothes. Jace pointed out.

Oh so you don't like my outfits? Hazel replied just as quickly as last time, followed up by a selfie of her laying on her bed, her long straight black hair splayed out beneath her head. Her arm was lifted up high, and her piercing brown eyes were gazing directly into the camera. She was in a orange crop top showing off plenty of her caramel skin and her large breasts.

Well I didn't say all that Jace replied hastily.

Don't backpedal now Holland. You said I shouldn't have brought all these clothes. Hazel's reply came.

I just said you would have less to unpack if you did. I specifically said could not should Jace said, grinning to himself.

"Who are you texting?" Zack asked curiously, and Jace looked up at him.

"Uh, a friend." Jace replied off-handedly.

Quit the technicality bull. I forgot how annoying you were while I was in Greece. Hazel's message came, but it was followed up by another one almost instantly after. You're coming to the Moving Party right?

Jace laughed. Yeah, I am

I guess I'll wear one of these outfits that I shouldn't have brought Hazel's message said.

*Couldn't have brought Jace couldn't resist needling her.

Hazel's response was just the middle finger emoji.

Jace set his phone down, laughing, and he reluctantly got up to keep unpacking. Jace had unpacked two items, a book and a T-shirt, when he heard a phone buzz again. He leaped for his phone, welcoming another distraction, but to his disappointment it wasn't his phone.

"That was mine." Zack grinned. "Back to work for you."

"Who's texting?" Jace asked, eager to not unpack.

"Uh, a friend." Zack said in a bad imitation of Jace's voice.

"Hey!" Jace protested.

"Keep unpacking. I don't want your half of my dorm room all cluttered." Zack said, and Jace muttered some unpleasant things about Zack, making the dark haired teen laugh.

"It's your sister." Zack finally answered after he watched Jace unpack a bit more.

"Which one?" Jace asked.

"Which one do you think?" Zack asked dryly.

"Dana." Jace guessed.

"Ding ding ding." Zack said. "Why would Daisy be texting me?"

"Dunno, but Taylor texts me non-stop." Jace said with a shrug.

"Liar. Heather I could believe, but Taylor? No way." Zack grinned.

"You never know." Jace said defensively.

"I know." Zack said, and Jace chuckled.

"What's Dana want?" Jace asked as he lifted out an old football helmet to display on a shelf.

"Her and Heather are done unpacking." Zack reported.

"What? No way! I saw Dana's shit, she had way more than us." Jace protested. He looked back over all of his stuff, and it stuck out like a sore thumb how little he'd unpacked.

"Sounds like they teamed up with the girls next door to go super fast." Zack read.

Jace looked at the wall they shared with JJ Jackson and Scotty Driggers, considering it, then he shook his head no. "I don't think I'd be more productive with Scotty in the room."

Zack burst out laughing. "At least you can recognize that. Do you want me to help you unpack?"

"What? For real?" Jace asked hopefully.

"Our twin sisters just invited us to come to the girls' dorm, I don't know about you, but I want to go over there." Zack said.

"Oh, we could just leave right now." Jace pointed at the door. Zack shook his head.

"Nope. Clean up my room first." Zack said.

"Our room." Jace corrected.

"My room until you clean it up." Zack grinned. Jace and Zack looked at each other for a minute.

"Fine. Fine. Come help out, I really wanna go over there." Jace said, and a laughing Zack came over to help Jace unpack.

———

Jace and Zack came hurrying into the girls' dormitory, glancing over their shoulders as they entered. The school year didn't start until tomorrow, officially, so nobody was out on the grounds, but being caught in the girls' dormitory definitely wasn't something they were interested in. As the two senior boys climbed the flight of stairs headed up towards the fourth floor where the seniors were living, they spotted a familiar face coming down the steps from the sophomore dorms.

"Hey, Holly!" Jace grinned at his best friend's little sister, who gave him a smirk.

"What brings you by the girl dorms?" Holly Bishop asked, putting a hand on her hips. Jace and Zack looked at each other and shrugged.

"Visiting our sisters." Zack said.

"Having fun." Jace answered at the exact same time, and the boys looked at each other again, then back at Holly.

"Having fun with our sisters." they said in unison, and Holly raised her eyebrows.

"Well, we've got things to do. Give my best to your mom." Jace said, and he pecked Holly on the cheek as he and Zack kept hurrying up the steps.

"Heather's gonna be pissed we're late." Zack told Jace as they climbed up past the junior floor.

"Nah, she won't be mad." Jace said, then they rounded the landing between the junior and senior floors and looked up at the top of the stairs to see a curvy brunette with her arms folded beneath her very large breasts.

"I guess you were right." Jace mumbled to Zack, who fought hard to keep a smirk off his face.

"You're late." Heather Ravers said.
