Chapter 9

What's next?
Movie starts coming together
I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing repeatedly. As I groggily grab my phone, I see notifications flooding in. My heart races as I open up one of the news websites and see a photo of Kyle and me on our date. My cheeks flush as I realize that I'm now in the public eye, and I don't know how to handle it.
I make my way to the living room to find Clea, who is sitting on the couch with a smug expression on her face.
"Good morning, my starlet!" she exclaims. "Looks like our little date with Kyle made the news."
I slump into the armchair, feeling overwhelmed. "I don't know if I'm ready for this," I say, looking at her with concern. "I haven't even made my debut yet, and now I'm in the spotlight."
Clea rolls her eyes. "This is what we've been working towards, Jazmine," she says firmly. "You're going to be a star, and the world needs to know who you are. Don't worry, I've already contacted my team to manage your social media accounts, and we'll handle any negative comments that come your way."
I stare at her in disbelief. "I don't know, Clea. It's a big step from where I am as Jazmine."
Clea sighs. "Jazmine, you're not just any ordinary person anymore. You're an actress, and your personal life is going to be scrutinized. You need to learn to separate your personal and public life, or you'll never make it in this industry."
I sink back into the chair, feeling overwhelmed. "I just don't know if I'm ready for all of this," I murmur.
Clea walks over and sits next to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You're going to be fine, Jazmine," she says softly. "You have the talent, the looks, and the drive to make it in Hollywood. Just remember, you are Jazmine, and nobody else. You have to be the perfect seductive sexy actress that Hollywood wants you to be."
As I sit there, feeling conflicted, my phone buzzes again. I see a text from Kyle, and my heart races as I open it up.
"Looks like we're famous now," he writes, with a winking emoji.
I feel my cheeks flush as I reply, trying to play it cool. "I guess we are," I type back, with a smiley face.
Clea sees the text and grins. "Looks like you have an admirer," she says teasingly.
I roll my eyes, feeling flustered. "I don't know what to do," I admit. "I've never been in this kind of situation before."
Clea pats my hand reassuringly. "Don't worry, Jazmine," she says. "We'll handle everything. Just focus on your acting and your debut. The rest will fall into place."
As I sit there, feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what the future holds, I take a deep breath and try to push my worries aside. Clea is right - I have to focus on my acting and trust that everything else will work itself out.
Clea and I were sitting on the couch, sipping our morning coffee, when her phone pinged with a text notification. I watched as her face lit up with excitement as she read the message.
"Our movie has been greenlit!" she exclaimed, practically bouncing up and down in her seat.
I couldn't help but feel a twinge of nervousness mixed in with the excitement. This was it - the moment I had been working towards. The moment where Jazmine Jade would make her debut on the big screen.
But first, we had an interview with a news agency. Clea and I quickly got to work on creating my backstory. We went over my past and experiences, making sure that everything matched up with the persona we had created for Jazmine.
As we talked, I could feel myself slipping more and more into the character of Jazmine Jade. It was like I was becoming her, piece by piece, until I was no longer sure where Jazmine ended and I began.
Clea was thrilled with the outcome, and we left for the interview feeling confident and prepared. I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride as I walked out the door with Clea, ready to take on the world as Jazmine Jade.
"Remember, Jazmine," Clea said, turning to me before we got into the car. "You are Jazmine Jade, and nobody else. You are the embodiment of seduction and sex appeal. You have to own it."
I nodded, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves. This was it - the moment of truth. The moment where I would finally step into the spotlight and show the world what I was made of.
As we climbed into the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement mixed with trepidation. This was the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I had no idea what the future held for me as Jazmine Jade.
As we enter the room for the interview, my nerves begin to get the better of me. Clea, as always, remains calm and collected. We take our seats as the interviewer introduces himself, and I can't help but notice the cameras pointed in our direction.
The interviewer starts with a few basic questions about the movie and Clea's vision for it. Clea handles them like a pro, explaining her unique approach to filmmaking and her excitement for this particular project. But then the questions turn towards me.
"So, Jazmine, this is your first film role. Can you tell us a little about your background in acting?" the interviewer asks.
I feel my heart rate quicken as I glance at Clea, who gives me a reassuring nod. "Well, actually, I've been interested in acting since I was young, but I didn't have the opportunity to pursue it until recently," I answer, trying to sound confident.
The interviewer probes further, "And what kind of experience do you have? Have you taken any acting classes or performed in any productions?"
I hesitate for a moment, wondering how much I should reveal. But before I can respond, Clea jumps in. "Jazmine has been working with me for some time now, honing her craft and developing her skills. She's a natural, and I have no doubt that she will be a fantastic part of our film."
I feel a wave of gratitude towards Clea, grateful for her support and for the fact that she is willing to cover for me. The rest of the interview goes smoothly, with Clea handling most of the questions and me chiming in when necessary. As we leave, I can't help but feel relieved that it's over, yet also grateful for the opportunity to promote our film and my debut.
"Clea, thank you for having my back in there," I say as we walk towards the car.
"Of course, Jazmine. We're in this together, and I'll always support you," she replies with a smile.
I feel a warm sensation in my chest, grateful for Clea's unwavering support and kindness. As we drive back to our apartment, I can't help but wonder what the future holds, both for our film and for me personally.
A few days later, I wake up to the sound of Clea bustling around the room, getting ready for the day ahead. As I get out of bed, I catch my reflection in the mirror and don't even bat an eye at my feminine appearance. It's become so normal for me to see myself this way, to be Jazmine Jade.
Clea and I head to the set for the first time, and I'm struck by how much preparation has gone into it already. Clearly work had begun even before the movie was green lit. But I don't have much time to think about it as I need to get myself into character, becoming Jazmine, the seductive actress, and then the character in Clea's script.
I start filming a scene, and I'm completely focused on my character. Halfway through the scene, I see Kyle standing there, watching me intently.
When the director calls cut, Kyle comes over and pulls me into a gentle kiss. I'm taken aback and uncomfortable. Yes, I'm Jazmine and I've been Jazmine for weeks now, but I'm still a man, and kissing another man is not something I'm comfortable with. But the kiss is also tender and sweet, and I can't help but wonder if this means we're in some sort of unofficial relationship.
After Kyle leaves, I can't concentrate as well on my scenes. My mind keeps wandering back to the kiss and what it means for us. I try to shake it off and focus on the task at hand, but it's not easy. The rest of the day on set is a blur, and by the time we wrap, I'm exhausted and emotionally drained.
As we head back home, Clea notices that I'm quiet and asks me what's wrong. I try to brush it off, but she sees right through me. "What's going on with Kyle?" she asks.
I take a deep breath and confess, "He kissed me today on set, and I don't know what it means for us."
Clea's eyes light up. "This is great news! It means he's into you, Jazmine. And that's exactly what we want. We need to capitalize on this and use it to our advantage."
I'm not so sure. Yes, it could be good for my career, but what about Jackson? I can't help but feel like I'm betraying him in some way.
But Clea is already planning our next move. "I'll have my team share some set photos from today to get the hype around you really going. This is just the beginning for you, Jazmine Jade."
As we pull up to the house, I'm left with a sinking feeling in my stomach. What have I gotten myself into?
