Move closer to the entrance guarded by the soldiers

"If my sister is in there I am not leaving her," you say to Gillo. "Let's move in closer for a better look."

You motion for your big gorilla companion to follow behind you. He may be bigger than you, but he is quiet and sure-footed, obviously used to creeping through the dangerous environments of this island. As you advance past a maintenance shack and into a low drainage ditch you keep your eyes focused on the soldiers.

The two men are well-built but strangely-shaped beneath their fully-enclosed suits of black and red leathers. The white gas mask style hoods they wear are attached by hoses to dripping cylinders strapped to their chest. These wheeze, dripping fluid, and thump periodically as if stimulated by some sort of mechanism. Their movements are slow, but purposeful.

"I don't know what those are," you say to Gillo, crouching at your new vantage point. "But they have guns."

You were taught that a gun can be more dangerous than many monsters. It is hard to defeat in even amateur hands and there is no mercy or subterfuge that will outwit a gun.

"Smell bad," says Gillo, wrinkling his big nose and baring his fangs.

He's right, there is a mixture of foulness wafting from the two soldiers. Decay and chemicals.

"Yeah, they could use some cologne," you agree. "We have to deal with them to get into the main building."

Gillo nods his agreement. Both of you charging out there is likely to get you shot, but if one of you crept closer you might be able to catch them by surprise. The only question is, which one of you should attack?
