You don't know anything about this place, for all you know it could be inhabited and you just got unlucky with where you washed up. Trying your luck in an unknown jungle or staying in some metal trap are not appealing ideas. Your best option is to move along the beach and see if you can either find someone or scope your the islands size.

You gather all of your things and then try to decide whether or not you will go left or right from the direction of the pod.
