Mountainous Rainforest

As John headed deeper into the forest, he felt the biome change and he was now heading into a more mountainous rainforest area. The air got more humid and hot, and he began to sweat more which made his lotion a bit more susceptible to being slick like lube.

Lush vegetation surrounded him and off in the distance he could see the mountains of Bear Island. He could see the resemblance of a bear roaring in the mountain formation. The elevation became rocky and uneven, and thick roots snarled every which way threatening to trip even the most experienced hiker. Although this rainforest provided a lot of cover for John, the same thing could be said for any hunters in the area.

The area was very quiet, save for the occasional mating call of the tropical birds. John was confident that he was able to gain significant ground against other contestants and the hunters with his approach.

He sat with his back to a nearby tree, and took some time to destress and fuel up on supplies.

The sun was falling fast and he had to choose where to make shelter next. Was it best to try to sleeping up in a tree or underneath the large roots of a tree?
