Chapter 26

¿ Cómo pasa Morty su castigo?
Mother and Daughter
What happened shortly after Morty left the table.....
Despite our protagonist's absence, the atmosphere at the table remained quite agitated. While Beth was still processing the fact that her youngest son had turned their house into a brothel, Summer still felt that Morty hadn't received his due.
“I...I still can't believe it. Did all that really happen, Summer? I'm just saying, Tricia and Morty... well, I knew she was... a, you know, a...” Beth said in a somewhat monotonous voice.
“A bitch in heat! That's the exact description, Mom, and don't say otherwise. You know very well I'm right,” Summer snapped, seeing the displeasure on her mother's face. “I wouldn't believe it either, but...grrrrr... damn, if you had been here last night, not even a rock concert makes as much noise as those two.”
The mother, who had sat back down, kept turning from side to side in her chair, still not understanding how the events her daughter was telling her about had occurred.
“Heavens, Summer... even so, that young woman had never shown any specific interest in Morty... I don't even remember her greeting him.”
“Not even his darn name! I swear, Mom, something smells fishy about that relationship... something like when Grandpa lived here,” Summer declared.
Beth, less sure, took her daughter's words with some doubt.
“Eh... don't you think you're exaggerating, Summer? I know all this is strange... but in my opinion, it's just youthful lust.”
Letting out a sarcastic laugh, the daughter began to walk around the table.
“He he... please, Mom, strange falls short. That hussy didn't even know Morty existed until yesterday, and now, miraculously, she's chasing after his junk everywhere.... No, Mom! This kind of thing only happened with Rick here.”
Summer could see that her mother was still not entirely convinced.
“Come on, you know perfectly well that your grandfather vanished years ago, and since then, nothing weird has happened in the house... no more strange aliens, no more super crazy inventions, or adventures from another dimension,” Beth said.
“You mean, nothing weird until THIS,” Summer said, pointing above the house to where Morty's room was located. “What's happening with him breaks all parameters of normal.”
Despite her arguments, the only response she got from her mother was a shake of the head, but when the daughter wanted to object, the mother spoke first.
“Summer, I think you've done enough for today. I know you're worried about your brother, but these kinds of things are resolved by the parents... I'll talk to him very seriously and put him in his place.”
Summer fell silent, left with few arguments. As sure as she was in her heart, in practice she had no evidence that her grandfather Rick was behind it all.
So Summer let out a slight sigh, as if to shake off a bit of the mood, to try to do something different.
“Alright, whatever you say, Mom, but at least you can call Space Beth, even if it's just to keep an eye on him.”
Suddenly, the mother's expression changed, exaggeratedly more like that of a frightened child than that of an adult with children.
Once in secret, Rick cloned Beth, not knowing who was the real one and who wasn't. In the end, one stayed with her family and the other went into space to have her own life.
“E..eh... W...wh...what are you talking about, honey? I...I have no idea where she is...uh... s...she might be... well, light-years away from Earth...he he he,” she stammered, resembling Morty.
“For the love of God, Mom, I'm not Morty. I know well enough that not all of your night jobs are... let's say, with patients,” Summer said with double meaning. “Don't worry, I have no problem with... that, what I do see as silly is that you hide it.”
Beth lowered her head to the ground, feeling trapped.
“Oh, that's right, honey, I...I have a special phone to communicate with her anywhere in the universe... but even so, there's no need to do it. Morty and Tricia are just things of hormonal teenagers, and that's all.”
“If you say so, I just hope you're right and you're not doing anything crazy,” Summer said resignedly.
The mother prepared to go upstairs with the idea of talking seriously to her son about his recent actions.
