Chapter 6

Tsundere, am I right?
Morning in the new body
Surprisingly the entire night I had been in my body I couldn't sleep. That wasn't the case with the one I was currently stuck in. No, after Riley left in my body next door, I took the chance to explore every nook and cranny of my new one. I moaned and barked into the night as I felt myself up from the bottom to the top and down again. I came and quickly lost interest due to a sudden lack of energy.
"Oof" I fell back first onto Riley's bed. It was so squishy and soft compared to mine. The cheap mattress I found at a clearance center that was all spring and no feather. I squirmed around little until my eyelids started to go heavy. Before I conked out, my thoughts raced back to Riley. I wondered what she was doing in my apartment or was she at the door of her's, listening intently for me to say I was behind this all along. But the truth of the matter was I wasn't. I had less of a clue on how this happened just as much as her. I didn't think about it too much as I was out like a light after a few thoughts.

"Mannnnn," I said, stretching in Riley's bed, "This bed is so soft. I could sleep all day in it."
Suddenly all the events of last night entered into my brain and I looked down to confirm if it was all just a dream. It wasn't. Looking down I saw the familiar female underwear that conformed to me like it was made to. Yet, any female underwear in my actual body wasn't supposed to fit my at all.
I sat up and leaned my head into my palms. "Fuck me."
A knock at the door made me jump. I faced the door and waited for it to be slammed right open. It didn't happen. My curiosity got the better of me and I pushed my legs over the side of the bed and placed my feet on the floor. I tiptoed to the door and leaned an ear onto the wood. "Who is it?" I quietly asked.
"It's Donna."
"Donna who?" I didn't know anybody named Donna. It must have been someone Riley knew.
"Its too early for games. Just let me in," she moaned. "Don't make me ask twice."
Ouch. Riley was starting to seem like a pushover in the company of others, even though she stood up to Patricia fairly well. "Ah, give me a sec. I'm changing."
"You have three minutes. Meet me out in the hall when you're done." I heard Donna's footsteps as she walked further away from the door.
Shit, I breathed. I thought she was going to go downstairs or something. I wanted to dash across to my apartment and try to get Riley to save me from this, but it seems I didn't have choice. I took my ear off the door and headed for the dresser. It was standing on the right of the bed. A few draws were half open, with a few clothes hanging from them like a drying line. I picked the first outfit I could find.
I walked back over to the door, turned the handle, and walked out into the hall where Donna was on her phone. She didn't look up as I approached her. Only when I stood right in front of her then she took notice. And her first reaction was not pleasant.
"What are you wearing?" Donna asked.
"What do you mean?" I looked down at the clothes I picked out. It was some blue jeans and a black pull over hoodie. I was going for as casual as I could.
"Never mind. I've just never seen you in a hoodie outside your apartment." She gave me another glance and then waved her hand at me, motioning me to follow her down the stairs.
Okay. So's she been inside Riley's apartment. She must be a close friend.
"I'm sorry, I forgot all about today. Where are we going again?" I asked. Hoping to avoid suspicion I cut right to the chase. I needed to know where I was going so I could text Riley where I was at. Both to keep her from freaking out and to try and pluck me out of this terribly timed outing.
"We're going for tea and then our daily workout. You know, the boxing gym we signed up for?" Her eyes narrowed in on me as she reached the ground floor. I was trying to avoid suspicion and feign stupidity, but it's like she could just sense something was off.
Be cool. Just remember how Riley acted yesterday and try to mimic that I thought to myself. "How could I forget?" I softly smack myself on the head with my tongue sticking out. Stupid! She never did anything like that!
Donna rolled her eyes and continued forward like it was the most normal reaction in the world. "Ugh, this again."
This again? Was this how Riley always was? I had hit the nail on the head, not even realizing last nights crazy interaction gave me a look into the actual Riley.
A chirp went off. It was the phone in my pocket. I pulled it out and checked the screen. A message from a "New Tenet Hawt Guy." Aw shucks Riley, you're making me blush. The text read "HAD A DATE TODAY! I'M SO SORRY!"
Donna held the door open for me as I typed my reply to her. "Can you get me out of it?"
No later than a second had gone by that Riley replied. "I CAN'T. PLEASE FILL IN FOR ME" A two hands pressed together emoji followed it.
I wasn't going to be saved from Donna today. I just had to suck it up and try to pass tea and boxing until I could get back to the apartment and figure out what hell's going on.
"Could you maybe just out down your phone for once and enjoy the morning with your girlfriend?" Donna asked. I looked up at her. Her eyes said it wasn't a question.
"Wait, my girlfriend!?" I shouted. Donna's eyes went wide.
Oh shit, did I say that out loud!?
