Morning Routine

Ashley woke up to the alarm she had set on her phone. Spencer joined her in groaning as he sat up.

"Good morning." Ashley said.

"Morning." Spencer kissed her lips.

After a sigh, Ashley said "Better get moving."

"Right."

Spencer got dressed, wishing he could have slept in a little longer. Part of him even thought about convincing Ashley to call in sick, but by the time that thought had crossed his mind, Ashley had left the room. Once clothed, Spencer headed to the kitchen to brew up two coffees. Once they were finished, Ashley entered the room and said "Thanks Spence."

"Of course. No different to getting Amy ready for school I suppose."

"Guess not."

The two ate breakfast before getting into Spencer's SUV. As he drove to Ashley's place, Spencer asked "So when will I see you next?"

"Well, I don't really have any plans. How about I call you after work?'

"Sure. I'm pretty much free whenever."

"I'll keep it in mind."

Spencer then pulled up in front of Ashley's apartment complex. After a deep breath, she says "Well, thanks for everything Spencer. Really. You've been wonderful."

"The pleasure's all mine." The two shared a kiss.

"I better keep going. See you tonight."

"See you."

Ashley left Spencer's SUV with a spring in her step, confident her mid-life crisis had come to an abrupt end.
