More unexpected Supplies.

The path to get a mattress is less then straight, and honestly the group is cutting between a number of different industrial yards and a so on the way to the store. Max is looking around alert as possible thou he can't use that improved hearing to well with three people following him, so he is left with trying to keep a sharp eye on everything. As you turn a corner, he makes the whole group get down quickly. Your unsure what he sees but you figure he has been living in this area a lot longer then the rest of you.

Max waves a hand over his head to get you up next to you so you crawl up, He then says " See that street?" you nod in agreement you see it. So he then adds " Many stores strangely enough are along this street and many of them are boarded up, and barred up. It mostly has to do with the way this area use to be. It is a distance from the police stations and it is in the middle of the industrial area, but as you know some people ended up living around here. So they had to have some kind of crappy stores about, which ended up being surplus style stores. Be it mattresses or clothing or what have you, I am sure some of these warehouses even have food if we took a closer look."

You nod and say " Well little man its your show you know these places." You turn back to see Tracy and Grace nod, and then say " Thou we only need one of them really now, so why are we on the ground?"

Max nods and says " I heard something as we came on this corner, the good news is we can go into this store right here next to us the bad news is. I am not sure what direction I heard it from, thou if we could get on a roof I am sure we might be able to locate it if we look around." You hand the keys he had gathered to Max and he opens the door next where everyone is on the ground, you also realize you don't see a body back here so it must have been outside or he locked it up after he found the shop and left the body inside.

You turn to Max and ask " Do we need to prepare for the smell of corpse?" Max shakes his head and confirms it was out front.

The four of you enter the shop from the back, the building seems to be two story building. And seems to be the only one like that on the street so you thank your lucky stars on that. You look around the shop and notice it happens to be the last place you want to be if someone comes looking for you. As you look about you realize it is an army surplus store and you look at Max and wave your hand around and say " This is not good, sure the front of the store no one can see us and the door locks behind us in the back. But this is a weapons cache more or less, as well as ammo. And honestly this is something we would have brought the hummer to pick up."

Max looks around a moment and says " It was always dark, I always figured it was just a sporting goods store or something like that."

You turn to Tracy and Grace and say " Tracy you and I are on guard for the moment we are going to get on the second floor and make sure it is safe. Grace you take Max and find the MRE's I want you to take only the food not the whole packages, I want you to cut the boxes open with your knife and put the food packages. Also include the chemicals for cooking it but put them into two different pockets on his backpack, if you have a food inside the container that has more air then needed open it. I noticed some of the ones we have been eating had potato chip bags, if his bag gets filled up then start to fill yours in the same way. Just make sure to remove everything out of the boxes with in the boxes more or less."

Grace nods and says " No problem."

You turn to Max and say " Nice find kid, but make sure to keep a watch once she starts doing this. We are going upstairs to check to see if anyone else is here. Once we are done we will check around us to see what we can see around, and then come down and help with this. If we find we have more then we can carry, Max you might end up carrying another bag. I hope that is alright."

Max nods and says " Food is important and I should do my part to insure I have brought food to us, this shop will go a long way to ensure that part."

You nod and turn to Tracy and say " Lets move out." You lead the way up the stairs to the second floor and look around, you find that it is just storage for the whole store more or less, since there is no room for storage on the main floor. You check around a bit and find there is no one up here. So you get on the ground near the windows and start to look around, you don't see anyone around you but. You do notice that Max had been right most of the street is covered in bars and so on to protected the stores. That is a good thing, so you turn to Tracy and wave and say " Lets get back down stairs we should gather ammo in are bags, we can come back for the guns and other stuff later if need be. Food and Ammo is pretty much the easiest things for us to carry."

Tracy agrees and says " I would agree of all the things we can find in this shop they happen to be the two things we don't want other people to get if we can help it. Because one will keep them alive and the other can kill us."

You nod as you look about and find the case, you are also happy when you find the key to the case is still on the door to the case. You figure for a surplus store owner the dude was an idiot. You reach into the case and start to remove the ammo boxes metal or other wise from the case and say " I figure the upstairs is set up in a way that it would be hard even for people who want to figure out what is in what box without power and light to read the boxes up there. We can leave that stuff for another day or til the military shows up. They mostly will need some of the supplies for sure, and they can better move it all mostly."

Tracy nods and says " So this ammo we remove them from the boxes but now we need to figure out how to put them in the bags."

You smile and say " I will put rifle and shotgun shells into my bag you will put 9mm and assorted others into yours, you just open the box pull out the thing holding the ammo and pour them in. Move down the case as you go, I will make sure Grace and Max top off the food bags with as much ammo as can fit between the spaces of the food. There is a ton of it here, and it would be a shame to leave it behind when every shot we take can't be replaced so the more we have the better."

Max comes back and places a bag down next yours and says " That is one."

You look at him and say " Start putting ammo in it til it is completely full, just don't make it to heavy either way alright?" seems able to do what you suggest that includes to carry it. Your a little surprised with how well he has been keeping himself this whole time when he had all this food under his nose and was not using it. But you figure maybe he had a different place to get food, and that too happens to be a good thing as well it means you will as well.

You look into a green ammo box and realize it is filled with 50. Cal bullets but the problem is, the bullets or the can are heavy and you will need to come back for all of them. You turn to Tracy and say " These ammo cans, we need to find some where to place them. That is somewhere close and or out of the way around here so that no one will look for them, They are way to heavy for us to move with us today. And I am sure they have a machine gun somewhere in this shop that can take these bullets and I would hate to leave it for someone else to take. I mean the ammo, Max you and I are going to look for a hiding spot for these. Well Tracy is doing this, with the three bags to fill it I am sure Grace is still filling her bag and mostly a third one she found sitting around with food if she is in need of it."

Max nods and says " So where to place these crates?"

You smile and say " I am sure if we placed them, in the open most people will figure they are just there for show it is after all a surplus store. In less said person is interested in the crate it self I doubt that they would look in it."

Max looks at you confused for a moment and then says " That is a risk right? leaving them in the open?"

You nod and Max suggests " We can place it in the managers office of this place, the door is heavy and thick and it is hard to get past without a key. I am sure you will believe me when you see the other side of the door."

Max leads you to the managers office and looks he uses the key he used before and lets you in, you look at it and say " That is only good just like the outside locks more or less so long as they have no ability to lock pick or have no blow torch. Thou I doubt seriously no matter how great the criminal element is that is left that enough of them are skilled enough to figure these two things either way. This office will work for holding the machine gun bullets, we might also want check this office for anything as well. Never know what was left right?" Max nods and you say " Start moving the green bullet crates then lock the door, if you find anything in the office tell me?" You smile as you watch Max take one of the flash lights he had found before coming this way inside the shop and uses it to look about the office. You then add " Max, I know this is a lot of work I am making you do but one of us has to over look everything else and keep guard. That is why Tracy is on Guard duty Grace is bagging stuff well trying to keep the bags light and why you have this task."

Max nods and says " I understand, it is indeed safer for us to keep two people ready to defend. And you are checking what is worth protecting or trying to protect before we wonder off."

You nod then add " I just wish I had read how to use claymores and the likes so I could have set them up to kill people who did manage to get into this shop. Then again it would mean we would have to remember how we set them up and how to disarm them and that would be bad for are health as well as others." Max just gives a slight grunt as he looks in the desk for things, he pulls out a hand gun. It just seems to be a 38 special close if not honestly anything more then a police standard issue, 6 shot revolver.

You smile at Max and add " Find a holster and some extra bullets for that, I know I want you to carry a light weapon with silence but some stopping power besides the 9mm you got might be helpful. And that gun at close range if you need it can have stopping power. Not many jack offs are going to expect a kid your age to pull one of them out and point it at their chest and pull the trigger. Use hollow point bullets and it is sure to stop a person in one shot. The 9mm, is the same way but that one is more likely to prevent them. The 9mm is simply to provided good cover fire with accuracy. That there is quite another thing all together."

Max smirks and nods and pulls out the holster it had been held in the desk along with, he looks at the gun a moment and says " This looks pretty new, like the owner or manager had taken it from the shop and placed it in here. When all hell broke out." he grabs the gun a second and looks at it and then comes over to you and hands it to you to look over.

You take the gun into your hand and agree with him add " It is pretty new, it is also loaded. Are there any reload holders for the revolver in the drawer ready to go if so place them in your pouch and take them with." You slip out the cylinder and look at it and smile, you then add " It seems this gun is an 8 shot not a 6 shot, it makes it more important to find the loaders in the drawer."

Max smirks and shows you his hand showing he has at least another 24 shots for it, he then pulls out another box and clearly it was a laser pointer for the gun the idiot who stashed it there had never gotten around to putting on it. You smile at Max and tell him " pouch it all it should all fit in your pack that is on you. Remover the laser and the instructions and leave the box, and get to check the rest of this room."

Max nods and says " Thanks, I liked how the gun looked when I found it so I was hoping you would let me keep it."

You nod and say " see what else you can find but remember just to leave it in the desk or stick it in the desk, if you find anything else in the shop you want to protect or think I might want to protect including the rest of the ammo we are not bagging feel free to put it in here. We will leave in about 30 minutes." You think for a second and add " That reminds me I should check this place for watches and take everything we find including batteries for them and so on. Or find something that gets energy from are movement like some of the flash lights." Max just smirks as he sees you wonder off, and he gets to work.
