More than Lucy had bargained for

Arms gripping her skin, Lucy gave a hesitant smile. The girl swung her hand back and struck Lucy's backside with a loud smack. Startled, Lucy's hands flew to her exposed rear.

The ensuing shutter sound made Lucy realize what had just occurred. Pile of clothes in hand, the blonde hopped back over the counter, smile wide on her face.

"That's five bucks on your pump," she spoke, pulling out a five-dollar bill from her pocket to put in the register.

"Wait, don't I at least get my clothes back? That was only for the picture," Lucy begged.

"Well, maybe if you hadn't lied to me about how far away you lived, neighbor. I saw you moving in from across the hall."

The horror set in as Lucy realized her mistake.

"I'll be seeing you at work, cutie," she winked.

Nothing left to say, Lucy returned outside. Cold mist reached newly exposed areas of her body even while she did her best to cover herself with her hands. Thankfully, no one had pulled up to the gas station while she was inside.

Reaching her old sedan, she had to remove her hands to get the pump nozzle into the car. The sound of tires rolling through the water made Lucy jump and duck in hiding behind her car. Luckily, she saw the headlights continue down the road.

Standing back up, Lucy began pumping the small amount of gas. Looking into her rear window, something caught her eye. Resting on the floor was her towel!

Hanging the pump handle back up, she practically dove into the car and grabbed the towel. One of her windows had a tendency to leak, so she had thrown it in her car that morning as a precaution.

Wrapping the towel around her body, Lucy was in high spirits again. Her phone, wallet, and the comfort of her pants may have been left at the diner, but that will all be okay if she can make it home. Starting her car, she pulled back out onto the flooded road. Nothing could keep her from her apartment now.
