Chapter 25

The Archmaester
Do you kill the Old Lion?
More or Less
Much to the annoyance of Robb Stark, I set off alone through the dark and narrow passageway. Once I reached the top of the Tower the only sound that I could hear was Lord Tywin's snoring and my own thumping heartbeat.
As I draw my sword to strike, I made the terrible mistake of looking down upon the face of my sleeping enemy and I began to wonder if this was truly the most honorable thing to do.
I had personally killed the great Khal Drogo with the very same blade not that long ago but this was different. This was cold-blooded ****.
After what felt like an eternity of conflict within me, I used my mind-control powers which I had noticed had become much more powerful since my days in Essos and 'convinced' the sleeping lord to open the city gates and personally lead his troops in a **** charge the following morning. Satisfied that the proud lion will most likely die the next day, I made my way back from whence I came but something on the wall caught my eye.
It was Ice, the valyrian steel greatsword of Lord Eddard Stark, taken after his imprisonment and would eventually be reforged into two Lannister swords: Oathkeeper & Widow's Wail.
After carefully picking up the heavy sword from its holster on the wall, I hurried down the secret tunnel to my waiting companions. Robb had grown anxious by the second, fearful of being discovered but as he was about to berate me for my recklessness, I gave him his father's sword and he immediately shut up.
"I discovered Lord Tywin's plans." I told my comrades as we returned to the beach to the waiting Ser Davos. "He intends to lead a full on **** tomorrow at dawn in the hopes to kill us and leave our armies leaderless."
"What do we do now?" Robb asked as he gripped his sister's hand even firmly. Lady Sansa was obviously shaken up by recent events but nevertheless she and her friends couldnt keep thier eyes off me.
"Now we wait. And when the sun rises tomorrow, House Lannister shall fall." Robb nodded in approval and I knew that regardless of my mind-control, my acts of kindness had cemented Robb's allegiance and respect towards me.
...
The horn blew loudly the following morning. I was dressed in full valyrian steel armour flanked by both Prince Oberyn and King Robb. Lord Stannis had returned from Braavos with another band of sellswords, the Golden Company, westerosi exiles and former allies of the Blackfyres. Meanwhile Daenerys pouted on the edge of the battlefield with six of my dragons. She was finally showing signs of her pregnancy and I refuse to let her be caught in the crossfires of battle.
On cue the gates of the city opened and thousands of screaming men clad in Lannister armour charged out. In front of them was none other than Lord Tywin and his best commanders.
My commanders began to ready my men for battle and soon enough our opposing armies clashed. The battlefield was filled with the sounds of angry men and of steel against steel. In the confusion of battle, I was separated from my main army and my horse took an arrow through its eye and I found myself surrounded by the enemy.
I tried to return to safety and managed to cut down dozens of Lannister men but my silver-white hair and gleaming valyrian steel armour made me an easy target. Despite granting myself the skills of several legendary swordsman, every single one of the Lannister men knew that one well placed strike would single-handedly end the war. Just as panic was about to set in, a loud demonic screech filled the air and the fighting briefly stopped as everyone looked up to the sky.
Suddenly I was surrounded by fire and while I was unburnt from the flames, the enemy soldiers vying to kill me was roasted alive as Blackfyre, the largest and fiercest of my dragons came to my rescue. Climbing upon its back, I directed my dragon's fury at the enemy lines and the last hope of the Lannisters literally went up in flames. Lord Tywin was gravely wounded by one of Prince Oberyn's bastard daughter and was bleeding profusely on the ground. Robb stepped up to him and either out of mercy or honor, ended Tywin's suffering with Ice.
Before I could celebrate our victory, there was a loud explosion from within the city walls and despite being on dragonback, I could sense the ground shaking with the **** of the quake. Looking at King's Landing, there was an ominous pillar of smoke rising from where the towers of the Great Sept of Baelor once stood.
As I was trying to make sense of the catastrophe, another similar explosion rocked the city but this time I saw the rising green fireball.
"Wildfire!" I heard one soldier cry out in horror.
What's next?
God's Apprentice
Or God's guinea pig?
A young man is gifted with the power of a god. What will he use it for?
