Velidina was six. That's when it had happened to her. That's when her life changed, although whether for the better or for the worse is still yet to be seen.

Before, she had been raised in the Shiatamme Clan's estate in Kirigakure, having a good life there. She was one of the "pure-bloods" of the estate. That was a big deal, as not too many Shiatammes were pure Shiatamme anymore. She had special rights in the clan that others did not. However, she was not the first pure blood of her generation. She had a brother that was older than her by ten years. Their relationship was quite good, and they trained together quite a lot. She was shaping up to be a prodigy within the clan, but then clamity struck.

The clan had found out that the government of Kirigakure (the Mizukage, specifically) was suspicious of them, due to their secludity. The Shiatammes hardly went out-of-grounds unless it was to get essential items. Velidina hadn't minded this, as she knew little about the outside world.

The elders of the clan joined together and decided that one thing was certain: they had to get their two pure-bloods out of the country. They could maybe move in with other Shiatammes that were spread out about the different countries, but they could also try to lead a normal life.

When she was six, her brother came to her room, asking her to wake up. He said that they had to leave the estate- her first time out. She asked what the occassion was in the dead of night, but her brother quieted her and beckoned her to follow. Once they had reached the outskirts of town safely, they turned around due to an orange glow behind them... to see that their estate was being burned!

Velidina wanted to run back to her parents, but her brother held her back. Even as she slumped down, crying, he was shaking in anger. Eventually, he said, "Come on Velidina... let's go..."

They kept walking... walking... walking. They didn't stop, until Velidina started to smile again. She eventually forgot about the incident on the trip, and it seemed her brother had, too. However, on the inside, he had never forgiven the Mizukage.

They eventually reached Konohagakure one night, while she was sleeping. He dropped her off at a random Shinobi's house, asking for them to take care of her before disappearing. The Shinobi took her in and trained her further. She passed the Academy, but not very well. It was believed that she would be a low-line Shinobi, but those that looked further saw the truth- that she harboured much power within... And some even tried to check out her history.

Only a few, icluding the Hokage, now of Velidna's true past... and some aren't willing to keep her in the village. Only the Hokage's words prevent them from kicking her out: "We must keep her in the village. Who knows what will happen if we don't...? And we still need to search for her brother. When he comes back for his sister, more will be decided then..."

Since she had been a late entry, with much promise, she had been placed on an existing team, making a four man team. The reason was two-fold: So she had more oppurtunity to explore her strengths, and it was a test... to see how Four man teams would work out...
