More Game Day Duties

Leah breathed a deep sigh as the dismissal bell rang that Friday afternoon. But Leah wasn't completely free. She had to work the game. Leah had to help at the ticket counter, which meant she could at least leave at half-time after they stopped selling tickets. It had been a long week and she was ready for Football season to be over with. It was getting near, unless they managed to score a few key victories and get into the playoffs. But Leah didn't know if those games would even be played there. Only one or two home games left. She was glad.

She sat in the ticket box with Mrs. Clemens and they gossiped catching up on all the latest rumors.

"Have you seen the new school resource officer?" Mrs. Clemens asked giving Leah a wide eye'd glance.

"Oh Officer Roberts?" Leah nodded.

"He is cute. A real stud." Mrs. Clemens smiled and laughed. "I certainly feel safer with him around." Both ladies laughed.

"Sad we need cops in schools now a days." Leah said shaking her head.

"I know!" Mrs. Clemens said in her excited manner "It is just crazy. The whole damn world has lost their mind."

They continued bantering and monitoring the entry way.
