Montage!

As you drive to the airport you mentally plan out what you can do, you have money saved up for college but with the world how it is, the money will be better used to keep you safe, when you get to the airport you think about all the things holding you back, your family, they haven’t noticed the changes, they work new jobs, look different, the only similarity that you remember is their names, the changes of the world fucked them up too, its almost easier to think that they are different people, the same thing goes for your friends and such. Everything else is material possessions, with your future so fucked up here you decide that you will do this for the last time and walk forward, grabbing your ticket and leave.

Once you got to New York you see that while changed, it seems similar to the movies and shows you watched before, it seems like the rest of the world is only broadly changed, so details are about the same if not affected like there are still cab drivers but now they are robots in flying cars, you walk in and get one, going to a cheap hotel and getting a room. The next few days you look for jobs, while you have a lot of money, it isn't limitless, you eat cheap and work hard for your life and find a job at a place down the street, it's minimum wage but its easy and didn’t ask many questions.

Time seems to go by faster after that job, you are making more money than you are spending, and working hard gets you a bit more money. Avoiding buying things you can take with you on a flight and luxuries you manage to not eat into your savings, as the world has changes around you, you are glad that you are just a small detail now, so that means your job never changes, even as the world goes from steampunk, D&D like, futuristic and even when the city went underwater like BioShock, you were thankful that it was before the bad events happened rather than when the game took place.

Sadly though it doesn’t take long for Jane’s influence to spill into New York, deciding you have time you make plans rather than run, first it is slow, more PDA and such, but then the women get bigger, then the men, then most men turn bi, then so do the women, then the city is ruled by a government-controlled by Jane, by then you already have a ticket and a plan so you leave, this time you leave the US and go to London.

You stand out like every other American but it was a known consequence of moving here, you do much of the same thing as in New York, this cycle goes on for weeks, even months, by the end you have grown used to this life, at least as used to it as anyone can for only living it for a brief time, though you think about what is happening back in your home town.
