Chapter 5

Which level does Ember choose?
Mixed Traits
Most people typically wanted the little they'd take care of to have a fairly narrow age range that they mirrored. Some would be made into infants around 9 months, 12, or maybe 16 months old, some would be toddlers, some would be elementary school aged, and their behaviors and the way they were treated would be pretty consistent with that particular age. Ember thought that would be it as far as options went, but then she started noticing outliers. These were very interesting, and varied greatly, which deeply fascinated Ember.
Some people wanted someone who'd be mostly like an infant, but not be bound to diapers. It was understandable, since changing diapers isn't very appealing to a lot of people and has now been made entirely optional. Others wanted a baby they'd raise and progress through all the developmental milestones, which also made sense given the lack of real children in the world. Some, who Ember found very intriguing, wanted a very broad range of traits across the timeline of childhood development, be it all simultaneously or bouncing between ages on a rough schedule.
Ember would be lying if she said she was never interested in some form of babyish treatment, but this was something she never expected to take such an interest in. If she played her cards right, she could find herself in the hands of a truly once-in-a-lifetime family. It would just take some understanding of who she was going to appeal to and how best to do it.
Who adopts Ember?
