Minning, Burglery and a meal

Pippa see something stuck in the monolith that the previous owner of the pickaxe tried to dig out but didn't bother finish. it looks like a gem of sorts

Hmmm, pippa fell for the greed, that gem looks very pretty.

She takes the pickaxe, and try to freed the gem

Pippa starts hacking away at the monolith but before she can clear away enough of the stone the pickaxe breaks from wear and tear

"Damn...it won't budge now ...Well...i'll get back later"

Pippa will explore again, looking for food

while exploring, Pippa comes upon a group of bandits. she can see two of them slowly working through the bushes, lookingleft and right, but you think you hear more behind them

Pippa evaluate the situation, since there are many of them, the best would be to not be noticed.

so she gets on the ground and tries to hide in a bush

the two bandits hack away at the bushes and one squints in your direction before wiping his brow and going on. they pass you just a foot away machetes in hand, the rusty chainmail armor dangling from their bodies while they delve deeper into the forest, away from you

Pippa waits some more minutes to be sure they are gone

then resume her exploring

She explores in the direction the bandits came from and sure enough after a while she can see some strange shapes in the flora. there is a well hidden little tent in the area, that most likely belongs to the bandits... it could potentially hold another bandit or two or maybe some trade goods or even food and drink

Pippa listens carefully to determinate if there's still some bandit in the tent

the tent seems empty but she notice she doesn't hear many forest creatures. She is most likely not alone here

Pippa looks for some bag, some food and drink

She finds an old haversack, a stale bread and some bottles with undefined contents in the tent alongside some crates with fabrics, ores and worn down tools

Pippa takes the bag, the bread and the bottles

she looks for a pickaxe that seem not too bad

Pippa looks around but most of the tools are for other trades and she has no luck with a pickaxe

Pippa sighs as there is no pickaxe available.

Then she looks for some small and valuable ores she can load in the bag without making it too heavy. She needs to stay light.

the ore chunks are fist sized, She can stuff maybe two or three in her bag before they get heavy enough to slow her down

Pippa takes thoses ore chunk, and then listen to check if it's clear outside

she only hears the sounds of the forest

she sneaks outside and get back to the forest

Pippa will stop in a secluded place in the forest (or a quiet zone) for a meal as it was a while since she ate.

She took some bread from her bag and while eating, she try to look and analyse some bottles.

while some of them a clearly some beverage like wine or ale, some have the very distinct form and dosage of magical potions... they don't have labels so it is highly unclear what kind of potion they contain

Pippa put some label as "???" on the magical bottles. Then for the end of her meal she drink some ale.

After eating and resting, she get up, and try to go back to the river and to Bospopus the raftcrafter

it takes some time but before dusk she can hear the river in front of her and she manage to find the raftmakers abode again

Pippa knocks on the door.

"Hello, mister Boporus? Are you there?"
