As you arrived, it began introductions. "This is Sky, the human rescued from the Odyssey. These are three of the engineers who work on the various systems of the Starpoint. Since Grey names are so long and difficult to pronounce for most other species, you may refer to them by their shortened duty IDs. E-2, E-7 and E-18."

"Hello, E-2, E-7 and E-18," you began. "I will be touring the engineering section later. Is there anything interesting I should know about in advance."

We typically don't get many visitors interested in engineering. Much of our technology might be difficult to fathom without a suitable background. Were you an engineer on your ship?"

"Not specifically, but all crew on the Odyssey had some training in science and engineering so that we could maintain various systems on our ship. I'm somewhat of a Jack of All Trades, if that term is understood by the universal translation implant."

"Yes, we understand. You will likely find the propulsion and navigation systems to be quite fascinating. Enjoy your tour" said the alien.
