Milk Candies

Not wanting to grab anything too big, Vanessa grabbed a bag of milk candies and went up to the register.

“You wouldn’t have happened to see another girl come up her and buy something, have you?” Vanessa asked the man behind the counter.

“Yeah, she actually asked me to tell you she was going to wait for you in the private rooms off to the side.” He said, pointing to a hallway that Vanessa assumed was a changing room.

“Did she say anything else?” Vanessa said, confused as to what Tori could be doing down there.

“Not a clue. She did buy a couple things though. Maybe she wants to surprise you?” The man said. “Whatever the case, here are your candies and enjoy the rest of your day.”

Vanessa grabbed her candies and walked towards the hallway. She was nervous about whatever Tori was doing. She was her best friend, but Tori has been known to get carried away before. Knocking on the door, Vanessa called out, “Tori, are you in there?”

“Yup! Come on in!” Tori called back. Not wanting to keep her friend waiting, Vanessa entered the room.

The room was about as big as her bedroom, with a bench on the back. On the other side of the room was Tori, a bag of stuff from the gift shop behind her.

“What are you doing?” Vanessa asked, holding her candies close to her chest.

“Well, I saw some stuff that seemed fun and I thought that we could try them out.” Tori said, her eyes shifting back and forth. “So, what do you say V?”

Vanessa looked at her friend. She was clearly excited but she also was acting a bit strange. Still, she didn’t want to crush her friend’s spirit.
