Does Mike heat it up on the couch?
Mike sees how far Maya will go
The soft cushions of the sofa sank under their combined weight as Mike shifted closer, leaving no space between them. Maya sat with her heart hammering against her ribs, her hands resting nervously on her lap as she looked up at him, breathless and completely reliant on his guidance.
"Relax, Maya," Mike murmured softly, reaching out to cup the side of her face. His large, warm palm felt heavy against her flushed cheek. "Remember, this is all about making the body language look completely natural. A real couple on a sofa doesn't sit stiffly like strangers on a bus."
He leaned in, taking her lips again. This time, the kiss started with a slow, deliberate rhythm, designed to break down any remaining resistance. Maya let out a soft, trembling sigh against his mouth, her naive commitment to the "screen test" driving her to lean into the contact.
Mike’s hands began to move with calculated intent. One broad hand slid down from her cheek to the back of her neck, his fingers tangling into her soft ginger hair to tilt her head to the exact angle he wanted. His other hand settled onto her waist, pulling her dress tight against her hips as his thumb stroked up along her ribs through the thin fabric. Every touch was firm and possessive, disguised under the mantle of professional instruction, sending heat flushing through her entire body.
Maya found herself lost in the sensory overload. His heavy, masculine presence, the deep pressure of his lips, and the practiced confidence of his hands created a dizzying fog in her head. She parted her lips further, returning the kiss with an earnest, desperate eagerness to prove she could do this—that she was a natural, just as he had promised.
As her hands crept up to wrap around his shoulders, Mike took full control. With a low, rumble in his chest, he tightened his grip on her waist and lifted her effortlessly.
Before Maya could even process the sudden movement, Mike pulled her directly onto his lap. She found herself straddling his legs, facing him fully, her floral sundress bunched slightly around her knees. The sudden, intense proximity took her breath away, but before a single thread of panic or doubt could form in her mind, Mike brought his hands up to frame her face and captured her mouth in a deep, overwhelmingly passionate kiss.
Her chest was pressed firmly against his, her arms instinctively wrapping around his neck for balance as she sank into his lap. Maya yielded completely to the sensation, her head spinning in the dark, thrilling illusion Mike had spun around her, completely oblivious to how far she had just stepped across the line.
Maya sat breathless on his lap, her face burning with a intense blush, her chest heaving as their lips finally parted. The intimacy was suffocating, intoxicating, and completely overwhelming. She stared into his eyes, her green irises wide and dazed, her fingers still trembling where they rested against the back of his neck.
Mike didn't let go of her waist. He kept his grip firm, holding her steady on his lap while he smoothed a fallen lock of hair behind her ear, his thumb tracing a slow, lingering line along her jaw.
"Look at you," Mike whispered, his low voice dripping with quiet awe and authoritative praise. "You’re doing incredible, Maya. Absolutely incredible. An hour ago you were stiff as a board, and now you’re reacting just like a seasoned professional."
Maya offered a weak, giddy smile, her head spinning. "I... I really want to do a good job today, Mike. I don't want to ruin this for us."
"And you won't," Mike said smoothly, taking a deep, deliberate breath as if considering the ultimate professional hurdle. He looked toward the open doorway of her bedroom, where the soft afternoon light filtered through the blinds onto the unmade bed.
He looked back at her, his expression turning deeply serious, almost clinical in its framing.
"There's just one final hurdle we need to clear, star," Mike said softly, his voice dropping into a gentle, persuasive murmur. "I think to really get the chemistry 100% and to not take any chances, we should test ourselves in the bedroom. Laying down, cuddled up, looking completely comfortable and at ease in a private, quiet space."
Maya’s breath caught in her throat. Her eyes flicked toward the bedroom door, a sudden, sharp flutter of hesitation piercing through the haze in her mind. The bed?
Detecting her momentary freeze before it could turn into doubt, Mike cupped her cheek again, leaning in so his lips brushed against her temple.
"I know its sounds like a big leap, Maya," he reassured her gently, his tone masterfully combining fatherly patience with unyielding career urgency. "But think about it logically. Laying down together is where people are most vulnerable. If we can lay on the bed together, hold each other, and practice a few more screen kisses while completely relaxed, then sitting on a sofa or standing in front of a camera crew downtown is going to feel like child's play. You won't have a single drop of stage fright left."
He stroked her cheek, holding her gaze with that intense, steady confidence she had come to rely on over the last twenty-four hours.
"This is the final test, Maya," Mike whispered, offering her a warm, encouraging smile. "Once we master this, you’ll walk into that agency meeting knowing without a doubt that you’ve got what it takes to be a star. Are you ready to finish the prep?"
Maya looked into his warm, earnest eyes, hearing the echoes of his selfless promises—how he was just the stepping stone for her big break, how Leo trusted him completely, how this was all just standard acting technique. Slowly, her hesitation melted away, replaced by the profound, naive trust she had surrendered to him.
Does Maya agree to try practicing on the bed?
