Chapter 84 by landmaster1234

What does Hermione do next?

Might as well keep practicing wandless magic

Hermione decided to go down to the charms classroom and continue to practice wandless magic. While she enjoyed the feeling of helplessness of not having a wand, she knew that she couldn't quite trust the Slytherins to not pull something later, and that she'd want some protection. She set her bag on Flitwick's desk and got to work.

By the end of a few hours practice, Hermione was reliably able to cast the spells she had learned up through her third year at Hogwarts. She grinned, pleased at her progress. The only exception was the Patronus Charm, but she had difficulty with that, even with her wand.

Hermione decided the next spell to try would be the windy spell. She concentrated as hard as she could, swung her arm in front of her and spoke the incantation aloud. "Ventus!"

Hermione's first mistake was that she had begun the spell before her hand was in front of her. A gust of wind suddenly blew from behind Hermione. She struggled to not be pushed by the wind, but this released her second mistake. She had overdone the spell. As the wind blew her forward, it **** her to bend over. The wind picked up the hood of the robe, forcing it inside out and filling it with air as it would fill a sail on a ship.

Hermione was so focused on trying to not fall over, she had her arms out to catch her just in case it did knock her over. That was mistake number three, as the robe was swept up and off her body.

The wind stopped shortly after Hermione was naked once again. At least the robe was still there against the wall. She began to make her way to it when suddenly, she heard the door handle of the charms classroom!

Hermione reflexively jumped over and behind Flitwick's desk, pulling her bag with her just as the door opened. She remained quiet, not knowing who just walked in, but she kept her mouth shut and her eyes on the robe. She considered using a summoning charm to get it closer, but that would surely be noticed by the person intruding on her studies.

"Why did you drag me here again, Millie?" It was Pansy's voice.

"I thought we needed to talk somewhere private...," Millicents deeper voice responded. It seemed they thought they were alone in the classroom. "I think Daph might be a little too into this whole Granger thing."

"Oh, what's wrong with letting her have a little fun, Millie? Everyone else is gone, so what's the harm?"

"I think she fancies the mudblood!"

Hermione's eyes widened as she tore her eyes from the robes to peek at the two Slytherins. There was a moment of silence. "Ok, first of all, how could you possibly know that?"

"I've seen how she looks at her, even if she says she's doing that thing of hers..."

"Jealous?"

"Hardly. Right now, I don't care if she fancies a girl, or even a mudblood, Pansy! How do we know Daph won't let her go early, or fall for one of Granger's tricks, or give her the photos, or let her on to-"

"Millie, calm down. You're just sounding paranoid." Pansy didn't sound worried at all. "Even if Daphne DOES fancy Granger, we don't have to worry. As long as she plays along, she'll get to see mudblood minge for another week!"

"I- oh, alright, I guess that makes sense."

"Of course, if you're still worried, maybe you can think of ways to sweeten the pot? You know, keep her working for us?"

"Like what?"

"Well... what if we arranged some supervised time between her and Granger?"

"Like what? Making Granger take meals at the same time as us?"

"Oh, think bigger, Millie. We could arrange for Daph to embarrass Granger all over the castle, remember. Walks on the grounds, going for a dip in the lake, we could even bring her into the common room to-"

"The common room!?" Millicent interrupted. "You can't be serious, you'd let her in there?!"

"Not with her wand, of course. We don't want her able to get the pictures of her finest moment, obviously. No, I'm just thinking we parade her through the dormitory, telling her to imagine everyone there while we treat her like the animal she is..."

Millicent thought for a moment. "Yeah... That could work. So how would we want to get that started?"

"Well, I'm still convincing Draco to send us that polyjuice potion. He's really trying to see exactly why we want it..."

"Well, he did go blood-traitor on us last year..."

"Ugh, don't remind me... I don't know what I saw in that blonde prick..."

"Well, maybe he'll finally give it up when you talk to him tonight with the floo powder..."

They continued their conversation as they walked out of the room closing the door behind them.

As Hermione breathed a sigh of relief that she hadn't been caught hiding under the desk naked, nor that they had found the robe against the wall, she heard a pop on the other side of the room. She darted her eyes over to see Gilpy was picking up the robe.

"Gilpy, no!" Hermione half-whispered, afraid the Slytherins might hear her if she shouted, but it was too late. Gilpy had disapparated before she had even gotten out the first syllable.

Hermione looked at a clock on the wall behind the student desks and saw it was now lunchtime. She sighed as she pulled out one of the two remaining robes from her bag.

What happens this afternoon?
