Then a different idea comes to him. Maybe...he could get some intel. They’re all standing in the middle of one of the mall’s atriums when he asks, “So, weird question, but what do you all think of Michael?” They all give him a blank stare before he adds, “You know, my squirt of a brother.”
Daphne was the first to answer, rolling her eyes and saying, “Ugh, we don’t like him. Geeze, why are you always complaining about him? Sure, he’s a loser, but at least he’s not an idiot.” That appraisal doesn’t exactly make Michael’s day, nor does the fact that apparently his sister loves to complain about him.
Amanda jumps in next. “I heard that he’s going to go fail high school if he can’t fuck one of his teachers,” she says, before letting out a cruel laugh. “Honestly, if so he’s screwed, none of their standards are that low, even the gay guys.” Michael does his best not to show how angry that makes him. None of that is true!
Jason weighs in with, “Eh. I’ve never met him, but from everything you tell me babe, he sounds like a geek.” Well, Michael thinks, it’s great to know his sister has screwed over any chance of him getting along with her boyfriend.
But last is Brittney, who actually blushes before finally saying, “He’s, uh...okay, I guess?” He gets a flash on inspiration from his sister’s mind: she has a crush on Michael, and has for a while! Michael is actually interested in that idea, but he can feel that his sister would hate to put them together, and the disgust is actually starting to rub off on him. If he wants to act natural, he should bash himself too...but what if he pushed against his sister’s personality and praised him? Maybe even helped him get with Brittney?
