Memory Alteration to Start

Unfortunately, Jennifer usually showers alone after Marcus leaves, so the second she was done swallowing my morning load she sprinted out of my room and into the bathroom. I was hoping for a little more time with her this morning, and it seemed like there was an obvious choice to augment the app with to make that possible: memory alteration. If she thought she and Marcus usually did more in the mornings together, then I’d be able to slip in with her instead.

I could hear the water start to run as the app finished installing on my phone. The UI was less polished than the main screen, but there were just as many features here too. Small banners at the top and bottom of the screen read:

“WARNING: Memory alteration may only be performed at most three times a day for the safety of the user. Each target may only be altered once per day until the app has sufficiently integrated with their mental processes, at which point the user may apply one significant mental effect per day and two smaller effects. As this app is still in the testing stages, memory alteration is still imperfect and claims that are observably false at the time of entry should not be applied at this stage in testing for user safety. See below Health and Safety Notice for more information.

HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTICE: Rebound effects are still possible for patently false claims. E.g., on planets with blue skies, do not attempt to alter the color of the sky within the target’s recent memory when the sky may be observed. Typically, these rebounds connect the entered statements to the user unanticipated ways. For instance, the user may instead believe that the sky has always been the provided color instead of the target, or they experience a sudden and severe hemorrhage. If you are uncertain about the determinable truth value of an input statement at the time of entry, DO NOT apply the statement to a target unless you accept the risk of such conduct. We will not be liable for any actions of users who fail to take this into account.

INTENDED USE NOTICE: This product is intended to change the memories of specified targets in conjunction with the normal operating features of its companion app. Use only in accordance with its Health and Safety Notice. This product should not be used on the app’s primary user or on multiple individuals simultaneously.”

I put my chin in my hand as I read through the rest of the menus. After browsing them for a few more minutes, I figured out how most of the interfaces probably worked. Unlike the main app, this feature couldn’t be voice controlled. I’d have to input commands manually into a command line and hope for the best during testing. I mulled back over the health and safety warning.

So to be on the safe side I shouldn’t change any of Jennifer’s memories about something that she can see when I make my changes. Guess it’s a good thing she’s alone then…

I’d initially hoped to use the app to convince her to let me into the shower with her, but after a few more moments of consideration I decided not to risk exploding my brain cells for that short term of a payoff. I’d need something a lot more fun to make that worth it.

I opened the command window and thought about my options. Then I smiled. There was a really easy one I might be able to check once Jennifer got out of the shower instead…

Jennifer's POV

I finished showering and felt so much better. Odd brag, but our bathroom is really nice. Marcus had a classy rain shower put in alongside a handheld in our tempered glass walk-in so the water just falls down onto you, the tiling is a wonderfully crisp white, and I make sure to keep everything as clean as can be. It’s great—a pure white space to calm down and relax. I light candles before hopping in most of the time too, so when I turned off the water a nice lavender scent rose up alongside the hot vapor in the room. God, I felt so much better.

But then there was almost this loud “pop” in my head, and I felt so much worse. I suddenly remembered that, whenever Marcus is home and I was changing after a shower or whatever, I always put on the smallest underwear I have and give him a teasing peak. He goes wild over it every time. If we don’t have anywhere to be, sometimes I’ll just stay bottomless and really tease him for a while. I don’t know how I forgot about that until getting out of the shower…

But Marcus isn’t here. Dustin is. And that little bastard has to get what Marcus gets until he finally fixes his fucking “low self-esteem” or whatever. So I guess that pervy fucker will be getting another show before lunch…
