Melissa meets Astryd in the elevator

Once Nathan left her room, Melissa headed for the shower. She felt strangely liberated after her one night stand. Usually, she didn't give in to such cravings. Hell, when she did, it often led to disappointment more than anything else. Nathan though, was different. Nathan had rocked her world like no other man had before. Even better, she might end up spending another night with him before the night was over.

By the time she was dressed, Melissa found that she didn't have much time before the wedding started. She headed to the elevator, wondering if she'd run into anyone, sure enough, she found Astryd waiting for her. The Bajan beauty smiles at her and says "Someone had fun last night." She said, her finger jabbing at Melissa's chest.

Years ago, Melissa would've felt some sense of shame, but instead, she smiled back and said "Sure did."

"So what was he like?"

"What do you think?"

"I think you want to see him again, don't you?"

"Maybe I do. So what about you? Did you have a good night last night?"

"Ugh. Not as good as I was hoping for."

The elevator then arrived, so the two women headed to attend the wedding.

The venue Alexa and Daniel had chosen for their wedding was truly magical. Old world colonial style with modern decorations and touches. The staff at The Treasury Hotel had worked overnight it seemed to transform the beautiful outdoor courtyard into turn of the century splendor. Wrought iron chairs ran along either side of the central paved corridor that led to where the couple would exchange their vows. The old fortified walls around The Treasury building had been painted pale peach. Alexa and Daniel would say “I do” elevated above everyone at the first landing at the foot of the stairs leading up to the battlement walls.

They sat together, so Asytrd looked for Nathan. Sure enough, he saw him sitting towards the back, playing with his phone, so Astryd leaned towards her and said "I see your boyfriend."

Melissa simply smiled, not sure exactly what was behind Astryd's prodding. Was she jealous? Or was she just teasing her? As they waited for the wedding ceremony, Astryd said "You wanna guarantee his attention for tonight?"

"Maybe. You have something in mind?"

"I sure do."
