What does morning bring?
Megumin the Ripper?
"What is this?" Kazuma asked as the Guild Hall had a crowd around it. Apparently, the staff had found something interesting, and were displaying it, allowing all of the agents to try it out. Kazuma had just come with the party to try and get a quest, but now he was caught up in the interest.
One of the guild staff approached him, and replied, "We recently discovered the favorite sword of Shack the Ripper in one of his old safehouses.
"...Shack... the Ripper?" Kazuma asked, his eyebrow twitching. That name felt like this world might be a manga or something that had ripped off a name from his own world... "Let me guess... He was a serial killer who attacked women?" he asked dully.
"... you're only half right. He was a serial pervert," Megumin sweat dropped. "He never harmed any of the women he attacked, only cut off their clothes before running away into the night. Never left so much as a scratch on their bodies, and other than being traumatized and humiliated, they were totally fine."
"That's right," the staff member nodded. "To this day, we never figured out who he was, despite it all happening over a century ago."
'Definitely a Jack the Ripper rip off, no pun intended,' Kazuma mentally deadpanned, studiously ignoring Ria, who, as per usual, was floating nearby, and was sniggering at the look on his face, no doubt fully aware of what he was thinking. '...still, he must have been absurdly skilled, being able to cut women's clothes off without harming even a single one of them even slightly...' He saw Dust trying to cut something with it... Wait, was that a Lovely Rabbit? Indeed, it was chained up.
"Stop trying to kill Bunbun!" Darkness was wailing as she was held back by the combined efforts of Cremea and Taylor, though they were clearly struggling.
"Damn, not me either!" Dust grunted after whacking Bunbun with the sharp end of the blade, but it didn't cut the poor rabbit, though it left him with a lump.
"... apparently Cremea-san had offered up a captive monster to test the blade on," the staff member sweat dropped. "...though we didn't expect it to be Darkness-san's pet."
"... seriously Cremea?" Kazuma demanded, giving Cremea a death stare. He didn't like Bunbun much, what with the name mocking his ass injury, plus the fact that one of his brethren had given him such a humiliating wound, but he knew Darkness was attached to the little guy now, so did NOT approve of this. He had standards, damn it!
"What!?" Cremea huffed, still holding Darkness back. "He tried to eat my foot this morning!"
"He only nibbled at it, I keep telling you, I'm taming him!" Darkness protested.
"...what about you Taylor?" Kazuma deadpanned at the Crusader.
Taylor simply inclined his head to show Kazuma a lump on it. "...Cremea scares me," he explained simply.
"She strong armed you into helping her, huh?" Aqua sniggered.
Megumin picked up the katana. "Just try cutting the chain leash Megumin," Kazuma sighed, making a mental note of the weapon. 'Seems nicely made... Must be magic like Gram though, except while you simply can't tap Gram's magic without being its master, this weapon won't cut at all for a non chosen user...' he guessed at the blade's properties as Megumin lazily raised it up, and brought it down. He wasn't really expecting it to- SHINK! -...work?
He blinked at the cleanly severed chain. Megumin hadn't even swung with much force, and yet the blade severed the chain like it was butter, and the sword a lightsaber... "...no way... It chose Megumin!? She's not even a sword user!" he threw his hands up, his world now thrown into insanity.
Megumin was also stunned, and Bunbun immediately hopped up to Darkness, who freed herself from Cremea and Taylor as Bunbun leapt into her arms. "Fiends!" she shouted tearfully as she dashed out, Cremea and Taylor stunned and staring at Megumin, who then cut a table in half, testing whether the initial swing was a fluke or not. The table fell apart easily, proving that it hadn't been.
"...hell yeah, I am the sword master!" Megumin declared, raising it up.
"...and thus, sanity is officially dead... I'm going back to bed, wake me when the world makes sense again..." Kazuma groaned, turning to head back to the mansion.
"...so, never?" Fio asked him teasingly.
"That's what I just said!"
