"Really?" Isabel asks hopefully.
"Really," Megan replies, surging forward to hug her.
At that moment, Isabel breaks down. She hugs Megan back tightly, sobbing uncontrollably. Tears of embarrassment mix with emotions she's been holding inside for so long. She's missed her best friend so much that it hurts, and since Megan cut her off after Isabel accidentally exposed her, she's felt lonely and guilty.
"I've missed you so much, Meg," Isabel chokes out between sobs.
"I know," Megan replies in a similar tone, her voice trembling. "I've missed you too, Izzy." As they hug, Isabel feels wetness on her shoulder, realizing that her friend is crying too.
The two girls stand there, hugging and crying, releasing years of bottled-up emotions. They stay like this for several minutes before managing to calm down and regain control. They pull apart and look at each other.
"God, our faces look awful right now," Isabel jokes.
Megan chuckles and pulls out a bottle of water from the tote bag. "Let's wash our faces."
They pour the water and splash their faces clean. Afterward, they look back to their normal beautiful selves.
After that, Megan looks at Isabel and asks hopefully, "So, do you want to hang out now? Spend some time together?"
"Yes! I would love to!" Isabel replies excitedly.
"Great!" Megan smiles brightly. She gives Isabel a warm hug, which she reciprocates. They pull away, and Megan says, "Come on. Let's make up for lost time, bestie."
The two friends walk out of the changing stall, filled with joy and ready to have fun together.
