Meeting the Queen of Naboo

Your ship lands in Theed, the capital. The Naboo security **** arrives to welcome you and bring you to the queen. Queen Neeyutnee is the current ruler of Naboo. The title is not hereditary, Naboo has elections every 2 years and elects a teenager girl as queen, to prevent any powergrab, so the real power mostly remains in the hands of her councillors. A person could be reelected only once, Senator Padmé Amidala was queen of Naboo for 4 years before she became a senator. She reigned during the separatist invasion of Naboo, which she successfully prevented through negotiations with the Jedi and Gungan people. She was so beloved, her people wanted to change the constitution to allow her to remain in office for life. But the notion was rejected and she became a senator in the Republic instead.

Padmé Amidala, an energetic, caring and idealist senator, who often gets into trouble to achieve her goal. Be it danger or else...

On your way to the royal palace, Ranvi asks Drek:

Ranvi: By the way Drek... You have never told us who your soon to be wife actually is...

Drek: Yeah, well... You will meet her. Sooner or later... But to tell you the truth, I haven't met her too many times either.

Ranvi: Do you not love her?

Drek: This marriage has nothing to do with that... This is a mere formality. My family wanted to gain more political influence, to enhance its already substantial monetary wealth... There is nothing more to it... We were very young when this was arranged... Especially me, as my wife is older than we are... But we were both **** into this, without our consent, so... At least we have something in common.

Lana: That isn't a good way to handle the future of children...

Ranvi: Is she pretty?

Drek: Yes, she is indeed... But the physical appearance may fade over time, that shouldn't be the main factor for a marriage.

Ranvi: You mean she isn't quite... intellectual...?

Drek: This isn't how it works in our society... And definitely not how it works in my family... You will never understand... Could we talk about something else instead...?

You arrive to the palace. Captain Panaka, the head of the security forces leads you to the throne room.

Panaka: My lady, the Jedi delegation has arrived!

Anakin: Queen Neeyutnee, we are honoured that you had time to meet us!

Neeyutnee: The honour is mine Master Skywalker, even a queen rarely has the opportunity to meet Jedi! Drek Modme, please, step forward.

Drek: I am at your service, my queen.

Neeyutnee: I would like to use this meeting to announce my best wishes concerning your upcoming marriage! Please accept my most sincere congratulations! It will be a long remembered event for all of Naboo! Two prestigious families finally united like that!

Drek: Thank you, your highness...

Anakin: We wouldn't like to keep you from your businesses your highness, we shall take our leave now. Just wanted to welcome the ruler of the planet properly before we begin our mission in Theed.

Neeyutnee: Your kindness is noted Master Jedi, thank you for personally coming to visit me. Please, should any of you have the time, come and see me here, there are many things here on Naboo that may require Jedi assistance!

Anakin: You mean, there is danger here? Do you need further assistance?

Ahsoka (sarcastically): Don't worry captain, Skywalker is a quite experienced bodyguard of the senator!

Anakin: Thank you for your comment Ahsoka, I believe we all know I was chosen for this task due to the trust the senator has for me and my abilities.
