What's next?
Meeting someone
Arron stepped out of the director's office and with a smile, waved his thanks to the receptionist and made his way to the door. At the same time, the door was opening and before either of them could do anything, he collided with someone. "Oh shit!" the man muttered and Arron, for his part, barely kept the same exclamation inside.
"I'm so sorry!" the man began and Arron, looking down at himself, noticed that the front of his dress was soaked with what appeared to be coffee. The fabric was damp, moist, a bit on the hot side, and tight in and around the breast area that only served to emphasize his chest. "Damn it, didn't mean to..."
Arron shook his head a bit and smiled a warm smile, as warm as possible. "That's okay, accidents happen."
The receptionist, who had seen everything that happened, immediately was by his side and looked at him. "Are you okay?"
Arron wanted to just leave but before he could say anything, the director's door opened and the woman he was interviewing with had immediately come to his side. "I heard the shout...are you okay?" When she saw the soaked dress, she immediately turned and motioned for the young girl to get something from the back. She disappeared and quickly reappeared with a plastic card. "Here, take this to the campus store. They should have something for you to change into."
Arron looked at the card and started to demurr to it but the woman, thinking and misunderstanding Arron's hesitancy for being polite, insisted on it. "Here, it's the least we can do."
The man had, by this point, placed the folder he was carrying onto the desk and had returned to his side. "I'll help you to the store. I bumped into you, I caused this mess to begin with."
Arron couldn't get out of this one and after again telling the director that it wasn't a problem, the man turned and escorted him out of the building. The two of them walked a bit in awkward silence, the man thinking about what he had done and Arron thinking how ridiculous he must've looked from those they were passing by. The campus was basically empty with finals being over and the students off campus celebrating but there was just something about a school's campus that made him feel at ease, at home.
"I'm Derek, by the way."
Arron smiled and shook his hand. "Erin."
With the ice seemingly broken by that, the two of them got to talking a bit as they headed down the main walkway towards the campus store. He was a visiting lecturer in the business department, having moved from back east, so it was more a surprise for him to hear that Arron, too, had just moved from east and he was applying for the Administrative Assistant position. As they got into the building, Arron noticed that Derek kept casting glances a bit at his chest, though he also tried to be rather modest and polite in avoiding overtly glaring at him.
"Well, Tiffany here," he gestured to the manager who came from behind the counter, "she can help you get some clothes. I'll be waiting out here for you when you're done."
"Come with me, please." The woman was quick and rather deft at merely looking at him before she found some clothes off the rack and handed it to him. "It's not the best but it'll be damn better than having that coffee on you."
Arron laughed at that and then, after thanking the woman, walked to the changing room and entered. The woman had picked out a white top that seemed to be almost like a tank top, left a lot of cleavage and emphasized the girls at the same time. The skirt was flowing down past his knees but tastefully apportioned and the color actually matched, something he was surprised that she could do and so quickly for someone she had never met before. Still, clothes was clothes and he quickly took off the black dress, making sure to be careful about slowly stepping out of it to avoid making any issues or dramas over it, before he did the skirt and zipped it up over his hips. The top came next and he spent a few moments making sure that, from outward appearance, there was nothing showing that shouldn't. In the end, he snapped a pic to Sarah who responded quickly with a thumbs up emoji.
He returned to the counter where Tiffany, with a smile, handed him a bag to put the dress into and then nodded as Derek joined them and paid for the clothes. As they got out, the two of them continued to talk and he found himself smiling a bit more as they neared the parking lot. "Anyway, I'm sorry once again for spilling the coffee on you. Are you sure I can't take your dress and get it cleaned for you?"
Arron shook his head. "No, that's okay, but it's sweet you offered."
"Least I could do. Tell you what, how about we meet for lunch on Saturday? My treat, sort of my way to apologize on my own for making this a mess."
Despite the fact that this was an offer for a date, Arron laughed and nodded. "Sure, sounds great."
