Meeting The Mary Janes

"Whoa!"

Gwen grinned at Mary Jane. "You liked that?" She asked to which MJ nodded emphatically. MJ was about to say how awesome she thought it was but she qucikly got out of the way as Betty staggered forward. "It was cool but... think I might throw up."

Gwen rolled her eyes but guided Betty into a chair. "Ok. Just relax and breathe. You probably aren't actually dimension travel sick. You're probably just freaking out instead."

Glory meanwhile was looking around skeptically. "Something definitely just happened but are you sure we're actually in another dimension?" She asked looking at a potted plant and then examining under a lamp. "I mean the place is definitely unusual. Do people here just build out of weird plants and rocks?"

Gwen shook her head taking in their surroundings of unusual plants and structures. "No this Krakoa place is kind of unique that way. Most of it is like ours. And stop trying to Scooby-Doo things. I assure you that it's another world. I'm the expert after all. Oh here they come. Just be-"

"Salutations!" Penny said gloomping the trio into a big flying tackle/hug.

"Cool," Gwen sighed as Walt chuckled and patted her shoulder. "Sorry she was super excited to meet you guys since she and some of the others are going to head home for dinner and meet our guests there."

Gwen smiled and nodded. "That's fine and I nearly forgot we have guests at home in all the excitement."

Penny was shaking each of The Mary Janes hands excitedly. "I just wanted to say we're excited for you even if some of us are going to miss the performance! We love Gwen and any friend of hers is a friend of ours!"

Glory, Betty and MJ started to relax. This girl was very sweet if a bit strange. Blake started shaking hands next as Walt looked at Yang. "You're going? I figured you'd want to stay party girl."

Yang shrugged and nodded at Blake. "She wants to go back. She got all excited by that package for home that Atlanta delivery guy dropped off."

Walt shook his head but he was chuckling. "Atlantis. An undersea kingdom and yeah I should have seen that coming. She wants to follow the seafood delivery. I promised the girls at the wedding we'd have some this weekend. Do me a favor and keep her and the others out of trouble?"

Yang snorted but also smiled. "That's kind of a big ask... But yeah, that's why I'm going along. I'll get Zwei to guard the fish. Don't worry," she fist bumped Walt before walking away to take her turn doing introductions, "we got this!"

"... And you must be Mary Jane," Penny said going down the line after shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries with Betty and Glory.

"Yep that's me!" Mary Jane said. "You can just call me Em Jay though like everyone else does, Penny." She blinked as it seemed as though Penny was studying her intently... Longer than she had the others. *Is she... Judging me?* MJ wondered. *Well two can play that game!*

She looked Penny over with a critical eye while trying to ignore Nora who was telling Betty they should change the bands name back to "MURDER FACE". Penny was pretty in a wholesome and cute way upon first glance but there was more to it. She was shapely and well proportioned. Perfectly so in fact, like she'd been made. Her copper hair and bright green eyes practically shone. A smattering of freckles. *So she is also Walt's type. My proportions are almost as perfect. And my hair is redder and my eyes greener than hers... So why doesn't he look at me like her or Gwen? Why doesn't he- No. Bad MJ. You're letting your competitive streak run wild again. Reign it in. Besides you know why. You've got a girlfriend who loves you. That's why he looks at them the way he does and-*

Penny smiled at her. It was a sweet, happy smile. "I am so pleased to meet you, Em Jay!" Penny said and embraced her again but more calmly and just as affectionately. "I like you and I hope we can be good friends!" She turned her head and smiled at Gwen giving a little nod while holding MJ's hands. "You were right! They are very special and wonderful! I approve."

Gwen smiled and nodded as Mary Jane blinked but then smiled too. This person, Penny, was like her friend Gwen. Accepting of her just as she was. She felt like she really meant that. Honestly and from the heart. She might be a little strange but she was a genuinely good person. "Thank you, Penny," she said smiling happily. "I'm happy to meet you. I think you're pretty special too and I also hope we can become friends!"

Gwen grinned. The others were all smiling and happy nodding too... and just like that they had approval! Jubilee gave her a wink before introducing herself to MJ and Neo flashed her a little thumbs-up. Gwen blushed but nodded. The ball was in her court. She'd have to see how things played out. She was nervous but also excited about the potential prospect for things to come even more now.

She stepped next to Pyrrha and said lowly, "So... you guys approved everyone tonight."

Pyrrha blinked. She was really looking forward to the show and had to mentally change gears. She nodded. "Yes. Is that a problem?" She asked quietly.

Gwen shook her head. "Not at all. I agreed too after all. I was just a little surprised that it was that easy."

Pyrrha smiled. "Yes. Technically it's up to Walter... or it should be. But he willingly leaves most of that up to us. He gives us so much freedom and so much of himself that... well it just feels wrong to limit that. So we follow Penny's lead. Unless it looks like someone would truly be a bad fit for us or a bad match for Walt why exclude them?"

Gwen smiled and nodded. "Yes. And that's how Jubilee, Jen and I feel after you all accepted us too." She smiled watching. "It all started with you three."

Pyrrha shook her head smiling at Penny. "No. It all started with her. She really is very special." She put an arm around Gwen. "But that said we're all equal and equally committed to keeping it going and growing. Because that's what is most important. Understand?"

Gwen nodded and put her arm around Pyrrha too. "I... no, WE do! It's special," she looked around. "This love that we've found. That's why we all work hard to nurture and share it." Her eyes settled on Jubilee who was discussing pyrotechnics and anime with Betty. "It was Jubilee who was "Penny" for us... and she said more or less the same thing come to think of it!" She chuckled.

Pyrrha did too. "Don't sell yourself short, Gwen! Jubilee was saying similar things about you earlier. We all try to emulate and embrace our version of Penny's dream in our own way. A dream that's big enough for all of us. That's very, very special and so are you." She gave her a knowing look and a wink. "Good luck and I hope you all have fun!"

Gwen grinned and winked back. "Thanks Pyrrha! I do too!"

Pyrrha nodded smiling. Gwen, Jubilee and Jen were already good additions. To their family and the growing circle of lovers. If Gwen wanted to give her friends and bandmates a opportunity it should be fine but... "You are aware of the most important thing are you not?"

Gwen nodded seriously. "Minimal preasure, not to force anyone and most importantly of all it must be done safely and respectfully or not at all... I... it worries me just a bit."

"How so?" Jen had joined them and handed them each a cup. "Sorry didn't mean to intrude. Are you worried because one of them might not be onto it?"

Gwen smiled taking the drink. "Thanks Jen... and yeah. Betty... well, I'm not that worried about Betty actually. Wouldn't surprise me if she gets into it the most. Glory and Em Jay are together-together though and Glory is really only into girls. I don't want to hurt their relationship or our friendship in anyway. And what if Walt's not into it and- why are you laughing?"

Pyrrha and Jen smiled through their quiet laughter. "That's just nerves," Pyrrha assured her.

Jen nodded and added, "But that's why it might work. Because you care about all of them. Walt included. If you didn't, it wouldn't. Guaranteed. But you do." She nodded in Walt's direction as he joined them hugging and greeting them. "So do they," Jen said making her way over to meet them with Pyrrha who was excited to get their autographs as well as make new friends.

Gwen smiled. Seeing Walt high-five Glory, give MJ a peck on the cheek and then immediately hug Betty and start talking like old friends... her reservations lessened greatly even if her nerves didn't. These were people who were important to her... and they already loved and respected each other in a way. They were just going to have an opportunity for more if they wanted.

"Whoa," said Betty as Emma Frost came in the room and checked out her outfit. "What band is she with?"

"Daaamn," said Glory checking her out as well until her girlfriend MJ elbowed her. "Sorry babe."

"Walter," Emma said walking straight up to him and ignoring everything else. "Some of the council would like a word if you don't mind?"

Walt raised an eyebrow "Immediately?" He asked.

Emma nodded. "At your earliest convenience if you would"

He sighed and looked at Gwen who nodded. So did he. If she thought she could handle it... "Fine. Let's do it in just a moment. Friday, Elyia, please assist Gwen."

(("Yes, Boss.")) "Yes, Boss."

He smiled as they practically answered identically and in synch. Had Loki done that intentionall? Probably so judging by her slight smile as she nodded. It might as well have been a bow. "Thank you," he said smiling himself before turning to Penny who had hurried to him. "And you and some of the others are leaving." He gave her a kiss. "Have a safe trip home. Did you enjoy yourself?"

Penny smiled and nodded. "Very much! Today was a lot of fun! Thank you!"

"You're very welcome my love," he said. "And I'm so glad to hear that. You and the others can come back whenever you like. It's a bit crazy to say but for the time being you might be safer here than on Prime. Just-"

Penny hugged him nodding. "I know. Be safe. Be aware. No going alone and make sure we tell everyone and stay in contact with regular check-ins." She let go and gave him a salute which he returned. They both laughed and then she kissed him this time.
