Meeting Asmodeus

Melana watched the mirror in horror as her eye moved and talked on it's own. "I'm going to wake up and this will all be a bad dream." Melana said trying to reassure herself.

"Nope. I am here to stay for now. I was stuck in that necklace for over 200 years. This isn't much better but I will take what i can get." Her eye said.

"What are you? Why are you here? Why are you in my eye?" Melana questioned.

"Ok, slow down. I'll answer what I can as best as I can. My memory is a bit foggy for that 200 year sleep." The eye told her. Melana patiently waited and listened to what this intruder had to say. "My name is Asmodeus. I am a demon. I was summoned from hell by witch in the late 1600s. Because I am unable to take on a physical form in your world demons, like myself resort to possession." Her eye explained.

"Oh god.." Melana said.

"So back to the main story. I possessed the witch that brought me to this world. I wasn't exactly good.. I won't get in to all the details but I sort of terrorized that little town. After my reign of terror went on for quite some time a coven of witches came together to stop me. They failed the first couple attempts. I was foolish and arrogant and let them live. I thought it was "fun" watching them fail. Then they came up with something that I didn't expect... They use that necklace as a prison for me. I guess they figured if they couldn't kill me or banish me back to hell they would trap me. They succeeded. Now here we are. When you broke that crystal it freed me. So thank you." Said the demon.

"So what now? Are you going to possess me and start killing everyone?!" Melana said in great fear.

"No I am not. Even if I wanted to I couldn't."

"What do you mean by that?"

"The thing is part of the binding spell they used on me is still in effect.. I can't fully possess anyone. I dont know if that was by design or a side effect."

" You said, even if you wanted to. What did you mean?"

"After my stay in that prison I'vehad some time to... well think..reflect.. on well everything. I do not care about that stuff anymore. I'm very old and very tired. I basically went from one prison to another."

"Well you can get out of me then."

"It's not that simple..what ever they did to weaken me has me trapped in your body. Honestly the only reason I jumped into you and didn't run back to hell is because I was too weak to make very far. Demons can only last so long in this realm unless they take a host. Normally that limited time span is a lot longer so it's never really been an issue.. in my case I'm trapped here. Even If i was able to leave your body I would die in minutes."

"So what does that mean? I have a permanent roommate in my own body?"

"Yes..for now. I think we can help each other out.. I can do..things.. for you and you can try to help me get home."

Melana didn't know how to feel about this. She wasn't sure how truthful the demon was being. On the other hand he could be and if she helped she could get her body back to herself. Either way it appeared that he wasn't going anywere unless she cooperated.

"Ok I will work with you." Melana said reluctantly.
