Meet your new handmaiden

“Good morning, milady.” Liandra heard someone say to her. “I trust you slept well?”
Liandra looked around and thought she saw a monster. In her room stood a creature that had the lower body of a spider and the upper body of a human woman. It was a dryder.

The dryder took two dresses from a dresser and presented them to Liandra.
“Will you be wearing a formal Nocternian dress or one of the Luxian gowns you brought with you?”

“Something was strange.” Liandra thought. “This ‘monster’ was not behaving ‘monsterish’. She seemed … domesticated?”
“Is something wrong?” The dryder asked.
Liandra was startled by this. “No, nothing is … I mean. I’ve never talked to a creature like you before.”
“Oh my, my apoligies.” The dryder said.
The dryder bent through her 8 legs and bowed before Liandra.
“My name is Arach, milady. One of the imperial handmaidens and currently serviced to your employment. It is my duty to make your stay here as pleasant as possible. If you have need of anything or require any questions answered, please feel free to let me know.”

This dryder clearly appeared well behaved, so Liandra thought she was not dangerous.
“Please miss, allow me to apologize.” Liandra said. “My behavior was quite unacceptable and unseeming for royalty.”
Liandra took an extra moment to explore how the dryder looked like. The spiderish part was like anybody would expect. A large abdomen with 8 legs coming out of it. She had heard spiders were hairy, but Arach didn’t seem to have any hair in her body. Well, except on her head, which was human in origin, but that was normal.
As for her human half, it was rather pretty. She had a nice slender figure. Her human skin was very pale, a stark contrast with her black spider carapace. She had black hair and two blue eyes. Liandra had often heard for dryders to have 8 eyes. Those story’s appeared to have been wrong.
The final thing she noticed about Arach were her clothes. She wore but a single tank-top made of black silk.
