What happens next?
Meet with the royal magician
You lay in your chair rubbing your over stuffed gut for quite some time as the servants collect all the dirtied dish ware and cart it back to the kitchen. Eventually Rodrick waddles back to your side. “My lord, if you’re sated, perhaps we should carry on with your meeting with Johan, the royal magician?” He politely suggests. You open your mouth to speak but a raucous belch escapes instead. “Ahem. Yes, I think that’s a grand -BBwuurp- idea.” You smile at him unaware of the bacon bits lodged in your teeth. “Plus it’ll give me time to -UUrpp- digest my breakfast.” You chuckle and slap your taught belly. “But first -OOOuuurrpp- I think I should get washed up.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, My Lord, but there’s not enough time to draw a bath for you right now but I can clean you up myself.” Rodrick draws a wand from his coat pocket and thumbs through his book before clearing his throat. “… Saponis Momenta.” He says with a swish of his wand as it lights up with a soft purple light. Within seconds you notice as stains seem to seep into your clothes and vanish and any crumbs or bits of spilled food shrink into oblivion. Not only do your clothes look clean but the sweat you worked up during breakfast seems to dry up, leaving you smeelling… well, of nothing at all really. Now that you’ve been magically cleaned Rodrick closes his book and returns his wand to his pocket.
“There we are, all clean M’lord. Now, let’s not keep Johan waiting.”
With everything returned he lumbers over to help pull you up out of your seat and you follow him as you both waddle deeper into the castle. As you both slowly lumber along from the bright and bustling upper floor of the castle into the dark depths of the basement which is lit by sconces of glowing crystals mounted into the stone brick walls and mostly just consists of storage closets and a dungeon which is seldom used in this long enduring peacetime but every now and then there is a bad egg which has to be locked up. The silence between you and Rodrick starts to feel uncomfortable as you're just lugging your bloated bodies along in the long empty corridor.
"Can you use a lot of magic Rodrick?" You finally break the silence.
"I'm no great mage, my King, I simply know a few housekeeping spells as well as some spells of protection every royal attendant should know. Why do you ask?"
You clear your throat a bit to try and hide your awkward gaps in knowledge "I... Just can't remember seeing you use magic is all."
Rodrick runs his hand down the back of his scaly head "Ah, well, you see... I don't produce a lot of mana so I can only cast a few spells before I'm all tapped out." You note a tinge of embarrassment on his face.
"Oh, I see. I didn't mean to bring up a tender subject."
"It's quite alright, my Lord, I pride myself as your loyal servant and trusted confidant more than my skills as a magician."
Just as your exchange ends Rodrick stops at a massive oaken door from which bizarre and acrid smells waft from the cracks. This must be the door to Johan's quarters. "Honestly, you'd think the man died from the smells that come from his lab." Rodrick remarks as he pushes the great door open. Inside the indescribable stench of dozens of alchemical reactions taking place simultaneously hits you like a freight train and you can swear you can see it manifesting as a glowing green miasma that hovers over the cavernous room. The interior was as dark and gloomy as a basement room could be and filled tons of lab equipment, books, and scrolls strewn about everywhere. In the back, behind a desk filled with beakers and test tubes of glowing liquid, is an absolutely massive man, a complete immobile blob of fat, draped in the biggest robe you've ever seen. Books and equipment move around him all on their own, being controlled by his magic no doubt to make up for the fact he's completely and utterly immobile. He doesn't even seem to notice as the two of you enter his chamber, too interested in the quill writing for him in one of his books. Rodrick scowls at him a bit "Ahem, your Majesty has arrived." He says with a hint of annoyance, finally catching the attention of Johan.
Johan's coke-bottle glasses magically push themselves up on his fattened face as he notices you. "Ah yes! King ______, I didn't see you come in." Rodrick rolls his eyes at the wizard's casual demeanor with his glorious ruler. "I made some breakthroughs I thought you would be interested in." Johan's experiments file themselves away for later as he fumbles about his messy desk with what little range his fat smothered arms have left. He picks up a vial of bright yellow glowing liquid from a rack of similarly luminous tubes and holds it up. "First, I've managed to perfect my polymorph brew. One sip of it will be able to transform you into any shape or species you like!" He picks up another one, this one bright red "And this one is a virility potion that will give you the size and stamina to breed all day and all night" He gets a lecherous grin as he swishes it around before grabbing a third blue potion from the rack. "And _this _one is concentrated starstone mixed with high potency aqua luna. Drinking it should imbue your body with the power to produce mana and bolster the production of those already capable of magic. In short, it will turn you into a powerful mage." He goes through a few more but the fumes in this room are starting to make you feel light-headed.
What do you do?
