Chapter 6 by UF UF

Who else was invited to this?

Meet The Raiders

Congratulations, Demi McNamara! The Shrouded Veil has selected you to participate in our next Young Sleuths Challenge! You have impressed our selection committee with your application, showcasing your mystery-solving abilities, or a past challenge winner has vouched for your talents. So get ready to test your deduction abilities in a series of mysteries designed by our founders, Rex and Tish Hardaway.

The Hardaways were once similar to yourself but as members of a mystery-solving quintet. They honed their investigatory skills by exposing and apprehending fiends such as Old Man Mosby, the Swamp Vixen, and the Peach Street Puppets. Ultimately, Rex, Tish, and their friends capped their teen gumshoe careers by doing what no adult could. Following clues that had been available for over two hundred years, they discovered the elusive treasure of the nefarious pirate, Redbeard.

With the ability to do what they wished, Rex and Tish created The Shrouded Veil, an organization dedicated to encouraging the next generation of teen detectives. To further that goal, the Young Sleuths Challenge was created twenty-one years ago to help test and train mystery-solving clubs from throughout America. Winners earn not only bragging rights but also a fabulous trip to Thundering Isle, scholarships, and most importantly, The Spectacled Sleuth Cap trophy.

The Youth Sleuths Challenge's location varies for each invitational and is chosen based on a real mystery from the region. Past challenge sites have included a magnificent mansion, an isolated offshore island, a southern plantation, a ski lodge, and an amusement park. As in the past, the Hardaways create a series of mystery quests for competitors based on the location's history. You will find information in this packet on the location of your detective adventure, limited details of what to expect, and recommended items or clothing to pack.

As your team's leader, you will need to select five additional young Sherlocks. We must receive your selections no later than one week after receipt of this invitation. We highly recommend that you choose your members wisely for each of their skill sets. A sleuth of any age should prepare for the unexpected.

Good luck and good investigating!

"So, what do you think?" The owner of the letter, a stunning blonde with blue eyes asked her friend, Peter Grayson as she folded the invitation back into the red envelope it had arrived in, sitting her curvy ass down on the chair and folding her arms just under her large breasts which Peter couldn't help but stare at.

The eighteen-year-old teen in question simply instead averted his brown eyes to the pool table before him, lined his cue for the shot, and potted in his solid ball. Standing straight once again and running a hand through his blonde hair, Peter looked over at his friend once more.

"I don't know..." Peter shook his head as he took his next shot and watch his ball narrowingly miss its pocket. "Why me?"

"Cos this is totally your thing." Peter's half-sister, Elsa Grayson responded. A gorgeous redhead with blue eyes, Elsa was born after an affair between Peter's father, Dustin Grayson, and Tammy Morgan, the wife of his rival, Alistair Morgan.

"She's got a point, Peter." One of Peter's oldest friends, Sara Rose commented. A visual beauty with silky, black hair, blue eyes, and a slender body that held perfectly sculpted large breasts and a curvy ass, it was no surprise she was a crush that seemed to take forever for him to get over. "It's totally your thing, mister man of action."

"You're smart, good at all those outdoor stuff and you can't expect us poor, beautiful ladies to lift any heavy stuff by ourselves." Peter's other friend, Hollie Hart teasingly spoke. Another one of his oldest friends, Hollie had long brown hair, matching eyes, large breasts, and a curvy ass which Peter couldn't help but gawk at as she bent over the table to take her shot.

"You girls have been pretty independent. I'm sure you can handle it." Peter shrugged.

"Why are you acting like you're going to say no? We all know you're going to say yes," Hollie knowing added as she stood up straight and tossed Peter a smirk.

"Well, you know me. I can't let a friend down." Peter responded.

"Good, now I just got to convince Zar to come along and we're all set." Demi smiled happily.

"She still doesn't want to go?" Sara said curiously.

"That break-up with Jerome hit her harder than expected. She's in a right funk." Elsa told the group.

"This should be an easy distraction for her then," Hollie replied.

"That's what I told her but you know Zar..." Demi replied.

"Well, if anyone's going to convince her. It'll be you," Peter grinned at Demi. "You're kinda stubborn like that."

"And you better get used to that. She's supposed to be our leader." Elsa jokingly spoke.

"Well, we all know who's really in charge." Peter fired back before looking back at the pool table to decide his next shot.

After a gruelling day of school, Peter, Sara, and Hollie found themselves making their way into The Slice of Life Pizzeria, A pizzeria located in a two-story building with several booths, tables and chairs, kitchen, storage room, and staff room with the second floor also containing more space with even more booths and tables where they met with Elsa, Demi and the final member of their group, Zara Alexander.

The ex-girlfriend to another one of his best friends, Jerome Verne, and step-sister of Peter's ex-girlfriend, Amelia Paige, Zara was a very pretty teenage girl with long blonde hair, green eyes, an athletic body with medium-sized breasts and a firm, round ass which she showed off in the denim jeans and white tank top she was wearing.

"So, we're all here." Demi announced as they all sat down in the booth, looking at the menu to decide what pizza they wanted.

"I'm glad you could join us, Zar." Hollie directed at Zara.

"We'll these two are relentless when they want to be." Zara jested while looking over at Elsa and Demi.

"You just needed a little push, like this lumphead," Elsa said while playfully slapping her half-brother on the shoulder.

"Hey!" Peter sarcastically said as he pretended to be hurt by the slap.

"And I need to get off my ass like this one said," Zara added as she indicated to Demi.

"So, now what?" Hollie wondered.

"I just need to send them our names and a team name," Demi explained.

"Do we have any ideas?" Sara asked.

"I've come up with a few names but I don't like any of them. At this point, I was thinking of going with the school team name, the Raiders." Demi answered.

"I'm cool with that," Hollie told her and quickly got murmurs of agreement from the rest of the team.

"I guess, that's sorted," Demi smiled. "Now we just need to go to Wicket Valley."

Seriously? That has to be everyone, right?
