Seeing as her mother turned her attention towards the living room TV, Danica felt it was safe to get up from the couch, she tilted her body away from her mother and made a dash for the stairs, quickly running up them before throwing herself at her room’s door. Once shut inside, Danica collapsed on the bed and reached out for her phone. She tapped on Meadow’s name and put the phone to her ear.

“What’s up, Dani?” - a cheerful, melodic voice asked her.

“I wanted to talk about something with you, do you have time right now?”

“Sure, did something bad happen? You don’t sound so good” - Meadow’s concerned voice was noticeably lower.

“Well, kinda, you see…” - Danica hesitated for a moment - “... you won’t believe me, but can you just hear me out?”

Meadow hummed in agreement.

“So, Imagine that there’s a version of me that always wears clothes, she’s never naked around people”

“Starting strong, go on”

“This is serious, she’s never nude, and she doesn’t have a… she- no. She has…”

“A vitamin D deficiency?” - Her friend snickered to herself.

“Meadow! give me a second, this is hard” - Danica took a deep breath - “She doesn’t have a dick” - finally getting that part out, she glanced down at herself and continued - “And, well, this isn’t really a hypothetical. I feel like you are the only person I can share this with, my mom or dad would just get worried and make things worse, and Paige… she’s Paige, it’s in through one ear and out the other with her”

“So, what did she have?”

“I- just normal, I had a pussy. Do I have to spell everything out?”

“You had it? I must have missed that” - Meadow couldn’t help another joke.

“Yes, me, it’s really about me” - At this point Danica started crying - “Everything was normal, but then I had a weird dream …” - She began explaining what happened. She told her friend how her body was different just yesterday, how everyone was acting like she’d always been a nudist girl with a penis, how some rules seem to not apply to her. She described the deal she made after going to bed and how the voice seems to have altered reality - “...and nobody is going to believe any of it!”

Meadow didn’t know how to respond and the two felt like the silence between them went on for minutes, only broken from time to time by Danica’s sniffling.

“I’m not gonna dismiss you, but this is very hard to believe”

“Right, of course you wouldn’t buy any of it” - tears started flowing again.

“Wait. I can’t exactly take you on a quest of returning to Earth Prime, or something like that, but I can still help. Listen, I’ve known you to be” - Meadow switched to a gentler wording at the last minute - “I believe you’ve been like this for a long time and whether that’s true or not there was never anything wrong with you in my eyes”

“What do you mean ‘never anything wrong’?! Have you seen me?!”

”Yes, and you are a great person, Dani. Look, I remember you being happy and comfortable in your skin. We’ll hang out and make you feel that way again. I’m coming over right now”

”Don’t! You can’t see me like this” - Danica protested.

”I’ve seen you naked countless times, essentially always. It’ll just be me, and we’ll figure something out, ok?”

Danica went red in the face again, one of the day’s tropes it would seem.
