Are you able to fight through her emotions and break up with Donny?
Maybe...wait a bit before breaking up with him? Still do it though.
After a bit of effort, you’re ready to do it. The words that will end the relationship are on your tongue...but before you can say them, Donny leans into you and kisses you. There is no hesitation: you melt into his kiss instinctually, and it’s wonderful. As James, you’d never had a kiss that felt this good with anyone. When you finally break away from him, any thoughts of breaking up have left your mind. Instead, you tell him, “I...I just missed you.”
For a second, you’re afraid he’ll see something weird about that, or maybe get upset with wasting your time. But instead he smiles. “I was missing you too, babe.” Then he raises an eyebrow. “Did you want to hang out?”
This is not how you’d expected your plan to go, sure, but it’s not bad exactly. Maybe this will give you better insight into Harley for when you’re dating her! That excuse in hand, you decide to put off dumping him, just for a little while longer. You spend the afternoon with him, watching shows cuddled up on your bed. It’s more relaxing than anything has been for you in years.
But apparently Donny has an evening shift at his work, and needs to leave soon. This, you realize, is the best time. Taking a deep breath, just as he gets up from your bed, you say, “Donny, I’m sorry, but...I want to end it. Our relationship. I can’t see you anymore.”
He looks utterly distraught to hear this. Not angry, but completely disheartened. “Why?” was all he could bring himself to ask you.
Despite the fact this was the first day in your life you’d ever met Donny, you found it so hard to do this. Your emotions were going crazy, tears starting to streak down your face, as you told him, “I...found someone else. I’m so sorry.” That was apparently all he had to hear. He nodded his head in acceptance and left.
It took a while after that for you to calm down. You had no clue breaking up with Donny would hurt you this much. Still, you remember why you’re doing this to begin with. When you feel like you’ve recovered, you grab your phone, or rather Harley’s phone, and bring up James’s contact info. ‘hey how r u doing?’
For a second, you’re afraid that the body you’d left behind wouldn’t be able to answer, and you’d have to jump and back forth to keep the conversation going. But soon there’s a sign that ‘he’ is typing back to you, and you get a reply. ‘I’m doing pretty good. How are you?’
If you were being honest, you’d tell him you’re an emotional wreck, but that’s not the plan. Instead, you type out, ‘not bad’ and then ‘soooooooo...r u doing anything tonight?’ After a quick reply that he isn’t, you message back, ‘would u b up for going to a movie?? like a date?’ Almost immediately James replies with a confirmation. Now...you need to think. Should you go to the date as yourself, and trust you’ve done the groundwork? Or go as Harley, and make sure this goes the way you want it to?
