Maya wants your attention

That evening, Maya pulls you aside. “I wanted to talk to you about some things, privately. Nothing scary, but some of the girls can’t keep secrets.”

You chuckle. “Sadie and Uzume. What’s going on?”

Maya giggles. “You got it! So, first of all, I just came from the doctor. Did you know they have magic items that can scan pregnancies? It’s neat!”

You smile. “I didn’t, but I figured there would be magic for things like that. What happened?”

She smiles, looking at you excitedly. “I know more about the baby now! Do you want to know?”

“Of course! Spill it!”

Maya laughs. “Ok, so the baby is due in 6 months. And…I should say babies, because it’s twins!”

You look at her with surprise. “Twins? Really?”

Maya nods. “Not identical, but twin girls! Two little dragon girl babies. They’re healthy and growing well, but that’s why I’m showing already!”

“That’s wonderful! I’m glad they have advanced magic at the doctors here.”

Maya grins. “Perks of being the king’s fiancée! Most doctors don’t have as powerful items available.”

You nod. “Maybe once everything is settled, we can work on getting more of that available.”

Maya smiles. “That would be a good idea! So…the other thing is a bit more touchy. I…I got Elys a ring too.”

“Oh? Can I see it?”

She looks surprised. “You don’t mind?”

“Not at all! You know my feelings. After all, I plan on proposing to all the girls eventually, but Elys and you are a special case. The two of you are as much a couple as you and I. So show me the ring!”

Maya grins, pulling out a small box. Inside is a ring designed to look like a twined snake and dragon, with their necks forming a heart, which holds a diamond.

“Maya, this is lovely! Elys will love it!”

Maya giggles. “I hope so! Thank you for approving of us, it means a lot, to both of us.”

You hug her, smiling. “Of course! Now, go make that gorgon happy!”
