May was Ash's childhood friend and had always been supportive of his pokemon trainer journey throughout the Hoenn Region. She had recently started working as an assistant at the house of Dr. Yamanaka, a respected expert in the pokemon world, and his daughter, Nanami. May was excited about the opportunity to work with them, but also felt a bit overwhelmed by the responsibility. She was a bit clumsy and often made mistakes, but she tried her best to improve herself.
