With that he rushed towards the door and seconds later he was gone, without looking back. “… later…” Max whispered, the feeling of helplessness was back, pressing against her stomach. The whole world seemed to be against her lately.

After taking a few moments to calm her frustration she made her way to Logan’s office. He just had to have something on his Uncle and whatever he had would be stored here. Right now, any information would help.

Logan’s computer was turned off. Max sighed in frustration. She didn’t know the password and she knew she wouldn’t be able to hack it. She had tried before when she was bored and had failed. Her brain might be tuned, but Logan was a smart fella too and he had the superior know-how when it came to computers.

So instead she focused on the small cabinets where Logan stored his files on pretty much anyone who was anybody in Seattle. He had locked them, but it took Max only seconds to break the first lock and she pulled the drawer open.

Then her beeper went off.
