Matthew processes Carly’s loss
Matt looked down at Carly in shame and sadness and embarrassment. Watching her thrash around, kicking her legs and flailing her arms. Yelling about how she wanted Billy’s cock.
That knockout must have really fucked her up. The audience was stunned. Many phone cameras were still filming.
“Cock! COCK!” Carly sputtered, thick legs kicking out as she lay on her back.
Matt dragged his eyes away from her and turned to Billy, who was staring back at him with wide, shocked eyes of his own. Billy wore a pale expression that said “what the hell do we do about this?”.
The animosity between the two had been forgotten, and once again, they were brothers. Teammates that had to solve a very big problem. Both Matt and Billy knew how to “settle things in the ring”, and though it wasn’t what Matt had imagined… His feelings towards Billy had been settled.
Billy hadn’t chickened out, or run. He hadn’t cheated or fought dirty. He hadn’t done anything wrong. It was Matt’s own fault for letting the fight go on when he should have called it off, and announced Carly as the victor. All Billy had done was rally his strength and win. He had met Matt’s unfair surprise, and won. That was that. All their bad blood was in the past now. And if Billy could forgive Matt for his part in all of this, then Matt was ready to forgive everything Billy had done leading up to this. All those hard feelings would be left in the ring.
“Dude, you need to get her out of here,” Billy said to Matt, quietly so that no one else would hear. Matt nodded grimly, staring down at Carly once again. She was still throwing her little tantrum, loudly begging for Billy’s cock.
Matt had never seen her like this. He had been spared from ever seeing the footage of that first, dreadful knockout Carly took from Billy many years ago. And this one was so much worse. It was actually a little alarming to see his dominant, outspoken girlfriend in such a pitiful state.
It was just… So unlike her.
Billy picked up the mic from the corner of the ring and turned to the audience, hoping to get their attention while Matt quietly moved Carly away from all the cameras.
“Well, uh… It was a good fight. She had a strong start, but-“ Billy’s lips tensed, not sure how to summarize the fight without deepening Carly’s humiliation. “Uhh… In the end, the champ stays the champ,” was what he settled for. “I hope it was… Fun to watch.”
A round of half-hearted, but well-meaning supportive cheers sounded from the confused audience. It HAD been an entertaining watch, after all. And Billy looked even more handsome with all that sweat over his strong, shirtless body, catching the gym lights just right. Some of the women in the audience were in the perfect position to see that Billy did indeed have the “big thick cock” Carly was shouting out about, and it made them swoon. His boxing shorts were made to fit him, and even they couldn’t hide that crazy bulge.
“Give me cock… Give me big cock!!” Carly was slamming her ankles into the mat petulantly, those mighty thighs wasted on the humiliating public tantrum of a dull-minded bimbo slut.
Matt moved closer, hoping to delicately lift and carry Carly out of there, but he froze. He saw something as he looked down at Carly’s face. Something that shook him so badly it took him a long, long time to accept it.
When he finally did, his body unstiffened, and he stood upright. He turned to Billy and walked back over.
“I’m the ref,” Matt said quietly, face neutral and voice empty of emotion. “I’ll handle the crowd. You get her out of here.”
“What?” Billy whispered back, covering the mic with a palm.
“Do it,” Matt replied, taking the microphone from his friend’s hands.
Billy wanted to argue, but this wasn’t the time. Pushing past his confusion, Billy moved over and snatched up Carly’s thrashing legs by their ankles, an easy task for someone so in tune with his reactions and his own fast hands. He held those legs up in the air once more, but this time he was dragging Carly out of the ring and into the locker rooms, away from prying eyes.
After getting her ankles “caught” by Billy, Carly’s tantrum finally stopped, and she started celebrating. Throwing her hands up and cheering, an odd, dopey smile on her post-KO face. She obviously thought this was the path to getting that cock she was so obsessed with. She giggled and laughing as she slid across the canvas, dragged away to somewhere more private.
Matt watched Billy go, holding Carly by the ankles and pulling on those mighty gams, then turned to the crowd.
“Well… That’s the main event,” he said into the mic, face red and unable to summon the same explosive energy he had at the start of the fight. “Your winner is Billy, the ‘Iron Chin’, and undefeatable champion… Thank you for coming to this, um… Exhibition match.”
Matt said a few more words, putting on the best showmanship performance he could summon right now, then dismissed everyone and thanked them all for coming. By now, Billy and Carly were safe from view behind the locker room door. The confused and stunned audience had slowly begun buzzing again, coming to life as their surprise was replaced with excitement. Or at the very least, having something to talk about.
Matt stood in the ring, arms down by his side, as the large crowd slowly started to leave. He heard some of the chatter as the people filed out. Some of the conversations they were having.
“Dude, I TOLD you he was faking in that first round,” one person said.
“I know, I know. But imagine if it was real?”
“Not possible. Billy doesn’t lose to anyone. Not a fight, not a round, not an exchange.”
“The way I hear it, Carly doesn’t win against anyone either.”
“Guess that’s why she likes fake fights.”
As they passed by and out of earshot, Matt’s ears tuned in to the conversation of another small group walking past.
“EXHIBITION match, man. Didn’t you hear the boxing club is trying to get more members? This whole thing was just promotion.”
“Fun as fuck to watch, though.”
“Oh yeah, big time. When Billy got up on the nine count, then knocked her down, I was jumping out of my damn seat.”
“She really whored herself out for him at the end, too. I don’t know if that part was real or just more acting, but either way… Damn.”
That group also left Matt’s earshot. He listened to the ambient murmurs for a while, not really tuning in to any particular voice, until his attention was grabbed by a loud, frustrated whine as a pair of women from the feminism club passed him.
“I thought she had him!”
“If it was REAL, she would have. Nobody could have gotten up again if they actually dropped down like that. Billy was fine the whole time.”
“I guess… It looked so real, though. Do you think Carly knew he was faking?”
“Maybe. Or maybe she just wanted to be close to him. Obviously she was doing this for her OWN reasons.”
“Yeah. Ugh. I didn’t think Carly was like that.”
“Neither did I.”
Matt winced. He had his own thoughts and concerns he was trying to avoid dealing with right now, and hearing “I didn’t think Carly was like that” struck a little too close to home in what was supposed to be a distraction.
“She MOOED for him. Did you hear it?”
“We all heard it. All heard her begging for his cock, too.”
“…It did look pretty nice, though…”
“Sh-Shut up.”
Eventually the last of the audience filed out, leaving Matt alone in an empty gym. Standing in the ring where he had seen Billy get put to sleep for the very first time in his life. Where the unbeatable champion had been lying limp at the feet of a girl, of CARLY, for several seconds. The ring where Matt had looked into Billy’s dull, vacant eyes, and not seen any of his usual charm or wit or focus. Where he had only seen an empty shell. Standing alone in the ring where Carly had fucked up their whole plan, insulted Matt, and gotten knocked out so badly she was snoring and bucking her hips.
Matt sighed, his shoulders slumping. He looked around for Anna, but couldn’t find her - it seemed she had left, too. He glanced over his shoulder at the locker rooms, where Billy and Carly now hid. He didn’t want to go in there. He couldn’t look at either of them right now.
Matt thought about what Carly had said to him between rounds. How she had so bitterly told him that Billy’s dick was bigger, so he should just shut up. He thought about all the other times Carly had snapped at him over the years. When things were going well, she was a lot of fun, but… She had a temper, and a tendency to lash out. She couldn’t handle confrontation, or difficulty, or sometimes even help. Maybe getting back together was a mistake after all.
Matt’s chest twisted as he thought about one other thing. The thing he had seen as he moved to carry Carly out of the ring, that had made him freeze. The thing he had seen in her eyes, just like when he had checked Billy for concussion the first time - and nothing like when he checked Billy for concussion the second time.
Carly was fine. Maybe a bit hazy, a bit brain-numb. But she wasn’t knocked stupid. Billy hadn’t had enough strength left for that. Her thinking wasn’t impaired. She wasn’t in a punch-drunk stupor. She was herself.
Carly hadn’t been turned into a dumb, groggy, concussed mess. She had just broken. She was ACTING like a moron, because she couldn’t handle the loss, and instead chose to retreat into herself, but inside… It was still her in control. Desperate, and humiliated, but present. Everything she had been saying, that tantrum… That was all Carly. In control, and trying to act like a stupid cow so her heart wouldn’t break when someone called her one. “It was on purpose…”, she could tell herself.
Matt’s phone buzzed in his pocket. It was a text from Anna. He read it closely.
Anna: We need to talk about how you can avenge Carly. You need to knock Billy out and take his belt. Strike while that dumb fucking chin is still weak.
Matt stared at it for a long time, then sighed and closed his phone.
It was just so angry. So vengeful. It sounded like one of Carly’s old rants, where she would beg Matt to beat the fuck out of Billy and leave him snoozing. And Matt just didn’t feel that same intensity, not anymore. His beef with Billy had been satisfied. The guilt he had briefly felt before washed over him again.
This whole thing had been a bad idea. Trying to humiliate and ruin the life of his best friend. What was he thinking?
He knew the answer. He was thinking it would be hot to see Billy get knocked out at last, and to have it done by Carly. Carly, who hated him, Carly, who obsessed over him. Matt was thinking how fucking great it would be to see an angry, furious, thick-legged feminist put an unstoppable legend to sleep in front of a huge crowd. He was thinking Carly’s energetic, triumphant post-win celebration would be very, very fun. A woman who conquered her biggest demon at last, a man who’d taught how to expose the mighty demon’s weak spot, and a giggling busty nerd who had been so happy to see it go down. Matt had been thinking with his dick, and he had nearly let it destroy his oldest friendship.
That wasn’t the kind of man he was.
Yes, Billy had been a jerk lately, but what Matt had tried to do was so much worse than any of Billy’s mild comments. And Matt knew that if he had just TALKED to him, told him how it made him feel and to cut it out, Billy would have apologized and done so. But Matt hadn’t talked to him about it. Not until it was too late. Not until he was prepared to destroy everything Billy had spent years building, because Matt knew he could get a satisfying threesome out of it, over the foundation of Billy’s ruined legacy.
Matt was thinking with his dick far too much, it seemed. Getting back together with his ex, who in recent years had turned into a passionate fuckbuddy he could indulge his darkest fantasies with. But those dark fantasies needed to be kept away from the real world. And he had broken up with Carly for a reason, way back when. She was hot, and she was fun when things were going well, but she wasn’t a partner. A partner was someone who could handle the bad times without biting your head off. A partner was someone who made you your best self - not someone who led you down the worst path possible.
If Anna wanted to try get revenge, she was on her own. Matt needed some time alone to think. And then, he needed to come up with some way he could make all of this up to his old buddy. In fact, Matt felt completely resolved that he wouldn’t be satisfied until Billy’s problem was completely fixed - whatever it may be. A psychological weakness from boxing his sexy mom, or otherwise. If Billy didn’t want to tell him, Matt would figure it out for himself. And he would make sure that Billy got back in top form before anyone else had a chance at dethroning his best friend.
That undefeated champion’s record was hard-earned, damn it, and Matt wouldn’t feel he had atoned until he was sure it would be preserved. That record wasn’t just Billy’s. It was Coach Lucy’s and Matthew’s as well. They were the ones that had pushed Billy to the heights he had achieved. It was a testament to their abilities too. And Matt wasn’t about to let his hard work get torn down. That wasn’t a mistake he was making twice.
Matt pulled out his phone, staring at Anna’s text again. Mind made up, he typed his reply.
Matt: im out, sorry. this whole thing was a bad idea. if you want to go on a normal date this weekend, lmk.
Matt sent the message quickly, then turned off his phone. With heavy emotions swirling inside his chest, Matt walked out to his car and drove home. Leaving Billy and Carly as the only ones in the building, just behind that locker room door.
