Master Roshi

Roshi was frustrated after overhearing Krillin and 18's plans to move out. He figured that it would happen eventually but he would miss the lively company that he'd grown accustomed. Especially his pupil's bombshell wife 18 and he knew that she was pushing for the move because of his behaviour around her.

Roshi decided to try and blow off steam by relaxing by the beach with his magazines. Plus he saw 18 go out to the beach earlier and he needed to see that view while he could. When he got outside he couldn't see 18 and figured that she must have went into town. Roshi was ready to lie on the lounger but then he saw something sticking in the sand at the shore, likely some kind of washed up trinket. It had been a while since anything significant washed up so he picked up what he now realised was a lamp. When he rubbed the sand off the lamp, pink smoke began to spew out of the lamp.
