Martin shares his discovery with his supervisor
Martin dove into this discovery with a renewed vigor. He had only the barest understanding of how the frequency could possibly cause physical objects to move, but that was enough to help him start learning how to utilize that aspect of the strange force. His prevailing theory was that the frequency worked as something akin to an electromagnetic field that could interact with all matter, not just metals. However, even that could not fully explain what the frequency could do, as it seemed to have little regard for the laws of conservation of energy or mass.
Realizing that he was both on to something incredible, and also recognizing that he was way out of his technological depth, Martin was starting to think that it was time to enlist some help in figuring out more about his discovery. He had hesitated to share anything about the frequency so far, mainly because he was a little nervous about giving somebody else the ability to control and pleasure Janet like he had been doing. He was also a little concerned that the thought of somebody doing that made him a little excited.
His decision ended up being made for him, however, when his supervisor at work, Harold Lawson, approached him near the end of business later that week.
“Hey Martin, got a minute?” Harold had asked as he leaned in through Martin’s office door.
“Yeah, what’s up?” Martin had looked up from his desktop where he had been scanning a colleague’s transmission protocol proposal.
Harold stepped inside and shut the door behind him. He placed a folder on Martin’s desk before casually dropping down into one of the empty chairs with a relaxed posture.
“You’ve been holding out on me.” Harold pointed to the folder with a smirk. “I noticed you’ve been requisitioning some parts and programs for a project not listed in our system. What’re you getting into?”
For a brief moment, Martin had a flash of panic. He had, in fact, been “borrowing” some equipment from work to investigate and develop his frequency emitter. Everything he had taken he was going to replace, but there were definitely still some outstanding parts he had yet to return. Thankfully, the only person who seemed to have noticed anything so far was apparently just Harold.
Martin knew Harold well enough to know that the man would be more curious than angry about whatever Martin was using those parts for. It would not have been the first time that Martin had been not exactly diligent in reporting his requisitions. He could have lied about what he was using it for, but Martin figured that might lead to some problems down the road. Besides, this might be an opportunity for that much needed technical help he had been looking for. Martin decided then that he would bring Harold into the loop.
“I’ll tell you what it’s for, but you have to keep it a secret, okay?” Martin pointed a finger sternly at Harold to emphasize his point.
“Hey, as long as I don’t have to fire you over it, I’m sure it’s fine.” Harold held up his hands in defense, his curiosity now clearly piqued. “So…what are you working on?”
Martin explained everything to Harold. He left out some of the more explicit details of his sexual exploits with Janet using the frequency, but he told Harold enough so that he understood what it could do. Martin was not the kiss and tell type of person, but he and Harold had shared enough explicit stories such that he was not overly uncomfortable divulging what he had been getting up to with his new discovery. As he listened, Harold had alternated from interested, to disbelieving, to seemingly excited but still doubtful about the reality of the frequency.
“So let me get this straight…” Harold smirked and shook his head. “You somehow discovered a wireless frequency that can make your wife horny and orgasm?”
“Well…yes.” Martin conceded, although he probably would not have put it in such simplistic terms.
“And now,” Harold continued, “You think you might have discovered that this ‘Frequency’ can somehow generate or create some sort of kinetic energy?”
“Yeah that, uh, that pretty much sums it up.” Martin nodded to his supervisor.
“Well this I gotta try.”
