What's Next????????????
Marrying Margaery Tyrell and Marching Orders
Aegon Had Stood In The Great Sept Of Baelor As His Hand Was Bound By The High Septon, Margaery Had Had Her Hand With His, Bounded By The High Septon As Tradition Dictated. Seven Valyrian Vows Were Spoken By Aegon, and Seven Vows By Margaery Were Spoken In Common Tongue. The Ceremony Was Rather Quick, Due To The Necessity and Requirement To March North Quickly. When Word Spread That Aegon Had Called His Banners To March North Against The Wildlings, The Tyrell and Dornish Armies Were The First To Raise Their Men and Banners and March To Join Aegon's Army.
Aegon Didn't Even Have Time For A Bedding Ceremony, It Was Just A Swearing Of Vows, Kissing The Wife and Ushering Out To Be Outfitted and Equipped For Battle Beyond The Wall. Aegon Would Need The Royal Fleet To Ferry Supplies To The Night's Watch Castle Of Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, While The Main Army In The North Gathered and Rallied, The Royal Southern Army Would Be Combining With The Reach, Dornish, Crownlands, and Vale Armies Before Marching North. The Armies Of The Westerlands and Stormlands Had Orders To Focus On Protecting The Weapons, Armor, and Other Equipment Being Transported Ahead Of The Main Army To Support The Deeply Impoverished Night's Watch.
Aegon's Annoyance Was Only Increased When He'd Learned From His Mother That Rhaenys Had Been Attempting To Sow Dissension Amongst His Brides. As Punishment, Aegon Considered Wedding Her To Walder Frey, But Instantly Dismissed The Notion As Too Cruel. Instead Aegon Decided To Use Her To Ensure His Campaign North Was Successful, By Marrying Her To Lord Robert Arryn, Lord Yohn Royce's Ward and Heir To House Arryn. By All Accounts, The Boy Was Coddled By His Mother, and Before His ****, Jon Arryn Had Sent Him To Runestone To Learn Discipline and Willpower. Royce Had Brought His Ward To Kingslanding, and Had Taken Him Back To The Vale To Rally His Regions Forces To March North.
Aegon Expected His Sister Would Try and Seduce Him, Get Him To Forget The Match By Way Of Her Love and Beauty, But Aegon Was Very Much Done With Incestuous Brother-Sister Marriages, So He Had Outlawed Them In Westeros. Aegon Would Still Take Arianne and Tye and Nym Into His Bed, But His Days Being Overruled By His Sister Were Done, She Was A Princess, Not A Queen.
Aegon Rode His Horse Out Of Kingslanding, Brother-In-Law and Kingsguard Beside Him At His Back. Aegon Had Seen To It That The Targaryen Sigil Was Emblazoned On Banners and Carried Such A Banner In His Hand. He Planted It Into The Ground And Marched Forward. The Armies Of The Vale, Reach, and Dorne Had Joined Up With The Royal Army, Over Ten Thousand Dornish Spearmen, Maybe Fifteen-To-Twenty Thousand Vale Knights On Horses, While The Whole Tyrell and Reach Army Formed The Primary Vanguard With The Fifty Thousand Men In The Targaryen's Own Private Army. King Rhaegar Had Gone To Considerable Expense To Create A Personal and Private Army For House Targaryen, Something Aegon Had Continued. House Targaryen Had The Finest Horses Available, and Aegon Had Learned That His Father and Uncle Oberyn Had Strategically Breed Horses From The North With Horses Of The Reach, Dorne, Vale, Westerlands, and Stormlands, Before Breeding The Produced Horses With The Royal Stables. The Result Was A Powerful, Strong, Enduring, Tenacious, and Somewhat Temperamental Breed, and Aegon Was Pleased Because The Mounts Were Very Well-Suited As Calvary Breeds.
Vale Horses Were Known For Their Endurance and Sturdiness, Stormlands Horses Were Tenacious and Had Excellent Stamina, Westerlands Horses Were Noted For Their Willful Behavior and Constitution. But Northern Horses Were Hands Down The Best Cavalry Horses, Because Of Their Resilience and Intelligence, So When Combined With The Energy and Strong Reach Horses, The Produced Steed Was Prized Indeed. However By Combining Breeds From Specific Regions, and Then Breeding With The Royal Stables, Rhaegar and Aegon Had Gained A Potentially Better Cavalry Horse, and Aegon Was Eager To See The Results. As For The Weapons and Armor Of The Targaryen Army, It Pooled Aspects and Traits Of The Lannister's and Tyrell's Armies Armor. The Armor Was Aesthetically Pleasing and Very Strong and Durable, The Army Was Outfitted By A Essosi Smith From Flea Bottom Named Tobho Mott, and It Was Long Distinguished By The Valyrian Silver Like Tint Of The Metal, and The Durability Of The Leather and Mail Involved.
The Swords Took On A Curved Appearance, There Were At Least A Good Ten Thousand Targaryen Arkh Wielding Troops and An Equal Measure Of Spearmen and Double That In Archers. Aegon Had Learned That His Father Had Adopted The Arkh's From The Dothraki, and Had Seen To It His Troops Were Trained To Expertly Use Them In Battle. The Swords Used By Foot Soldiers and Knights Were Curved, With Bent Handles. The Swords Were Very Good For Battle.
Having Marched Across The Twins With A Full Army At His Back Aegon Wasn't Sure How He Felt Having The Inexperienced and Rather Foolish Frey Army Of Ten Thousand Men With Him. But At Least Walder Hadn't Put Up Much Trouble Or Asked Much In Return, All He Wanted For Allowing The Southern Army Across and Eventually Back Across Again, Was The Promise Of A Royally Arranged Match With Another Great House. Honestly, The Best Course Of Action Was To Wed One Of Walder's Girls To Edmure Tully, The Fifth Most Sought After Male Bachelor After Aegon Married. The Young Lord Tully Might Not Be Very Pleased Or Comfortable By The Notion, But Aegon Would Let Him Have The Prettiest One Of The Group If He Desired It.
As For The Remainder Of The Journey, The Main Hard Part Was Over, All They Needed To Do, Was March Through Moat Callin, Where Aegon's Brother-In-Law, Aenys Blackfyre Reportedly Had A Good Ten Thousand Men Ready To Join The March North. House Blackfyre Had Sworn Fealty To House Targaryen and House Stark, Aenys Had Adopted A Dragon With One Black Head, But Two White Colored Ones. The Body and Tail Of The Dragon Was White, The Color Of The Base On The Banner Was Red. The White Reflected Their Oath Of Loyalty To House Stark and Vow To Guard The Entrance Into A Successful Northern Campaign Or Offensive. The Black Head Of The Dragon Reflected The Head Of House Blackfyre, In This Case, Aenys. The White Heads Represented The Two Wives Aegon Had Allowed Aenys To Take, A Girl Of The North and A Girl Of The Riverlands.
Regardless Aegon Wasn't Thrilled To See His Former Brother-In-Law, But Out Of Respect For Visenya's Memory, His Own Guilt, and What Little Inner Peace He Held, He Kept His Pact With Aenys and Illyrio. Aegon Was Concerned That Aenys Would Sense His Guilt and Realise The Truth, But Aegon Hoped That Bringing Aenys Nephew and Niece Would Conceal That Hidden Pair Of Emotions. Aenys Had Never Gotten The Chance To Meet His Sister's Children, and Aegon Was Prepared To Assign Aenys To Foster The Man's Nephew, But Rhaenyra Would Be Raised At Court, and One Day Would Found A New Targaryen Cadet Branch.
Aegon Had Finally Come To The Last Leg Of The Journey North, With The Northern Army Now With The Main Southern and Royal Army, All That Was Left Was To March North and Break The Wildling Army, Preferably Before It Marched On The Wall. Aegon Planned For The Newly Well-Equipped Night's Watch To Focus On A Support Role, While The Northern and Stormlands Forces Marched By Way Of The Boneway and Shadow Tower, The Royal, Velaryon, Lannister and Redwyne and Hightower Fleets Would Sail To The Eastwatch-By-The-Sea, Where They'd Funnel In Men and Supplies. The Wall Would NOT Fall To Yet Another Wildling King-Beyond-The-Wall, This Was Something Aegon Would Not Be Dissuaded From.
If All Went According To Plan, The Cavalry and Mounted Knights Could Skirt Around The Wall, and Cut Through The Wildlings Like An Axe Through Wind. But Aegon Knew It Would Be Far More Difficult and Trying Than This, The Wall and The Night's Watch Was Poorer Than The Entire North, The Castles Were Old and Of Uncertain Structural Integrity, and The Men Were Few and Mostly Convicted Criminals. But They Would Still Win, No Matter What..................
The Wall and Castle Black???
