Mark 2/Crusade Armor

The first armor specifically designed for Astartes. It is what the Mark 1 would have been if it wasn't made cheaply and rushed. It covers the whole body. It is air sealed. It is more durable and more flexible aswell. As a testament to the quality of this armor. Even though more models where made afterwards, Space Marine's would still use the Mark 2 long into the Haresy. It only became obsolete after the Mark 6 was made.

The helmet resembles that of medieval knights. There are line's carved down the mouth parts, however they are just for show. They are not mouth holes. Like the Mark 1, there is 1 viser of protective glass instead of 2 for the eye's. However it's much thinner and black instead of red.

There are many metal rivets dotted around the armor. The armor on the stomach and lap are open, reviling that under the armor is a layer of many metal rings. This is likely the reason it is both so durable and flexible.
