Mansion Lowblom 3 – A warm welcome
The mansion was an old slightly isolated building. Ivy was allowed to climb up the building at wooden constructs around the entrance door but the rest of the beige coloured wall were clean and taken care off. White frames enveloped the rows of windows from three story building, which reflected the light of the sun directly into Lacos’ narrowed eyes.
He turned his head to stop the painful brightness and looked at the small city behind them. The province Herezia had been reigned by nobles of the same name until fifty years ago but now the Lowblom’s had taken over when the Herezia, against the pressing of the population, refused to research the new technologies. New money had weighed more than old loyalties and as such the Herezia’s had been removed.
The royal carriage had been met with some weird looks when they passed through the village. Just like Sarine had hoped, by keeping on side streets and only stopping for the most necessary of things, they had arrived before the rumours. It greatly pleasured Sarine but without a doubt annoyed Lord Lowblom as he hastily walked from his mansion to greet his guests.
“Queen Sarine!” The young lord said and took a knee before the monarch, currently stepping from the carriage while being guided by Stef. “Lord Lowblom, you may rise.” Sarine granted the noble and he stood, giving Lacos and Reiline a chance to look at the man.
Logar Lowblom was a young man in his early twenties. He had black hair which was cut short, which went against current fashion in the capital which said that hair should be at shoulder-length. Wearing a fine blue and beige wardrobe, the colours of his house, with a silver buttoned black vest above he looked quite well for himself but the dark tone of his clean skin indicated that he was spending a lot more time with his subjects than a normal noble, wo was spending all their day inside doing paperwork.
“I-I didn’t expect you to be here, your majesty.” He stammered. Lacos smiled faintly, repressing a giggle to not insult the noble. Logar was clearly trying his best not to look at Sarine’s feminine curves. ‘The Lord may be a good leader but still a young man.’ The medic thought to himself while also keeping a keen eye on the other nobles that came pouring from the mansion to see if it was really the queen that arrived.
“I went through the trouble of coming here as quickly as possible after my coronation.” Sarine said with a slight smile. Her face was reddened. Did she notice the Lord’s indecent glances? “There was no time for letters.” She looked at the gathering crowd of minor nobles. “I heard that you have something truly interesting in your possession. I hope I am not interrupting anything?” The crowd went wild with whispers.
“Well…” Logar cleared his throat. “To be honest, my queen, we are currently holding a month worth of festivities in your honour. We would have waited if we had known that you yourself would have come. The festivities are half over now I am afraid.” He looked deeply troubled by the prospect while simultaneously ignoring Sarine’s indirect question about the magical technology.
The red headed princess looked at him for a bit. To Lacos it looked like Logar was uncomfortable with discussing that topic in broad delight and Sarine arrived at the same conclusion eventually. “Well, I hope you have some rooms left. I and my attendees shall take part in the festivities.”
The crowd cheered at the prospect yet Lord Lowblom looked more distressed than before. “It will be our honour.” He still said and offered Sarine his arm. She took it and she was guided inside, Stef in close following. Lacos looked after them. “Go.” Reiline urged him. “I will take care of the carriage.” He gave her a thankful smile and quickly followed into the mansion.
