Manaan (Tier 2)

Before you go, you are briefed by the council. The Republic's kolto shipments have been stopped recently for an unknown reason. Manaan officials claim the ships leave the docks, yet none of them arrive to the Republic controlled planets. The Selkath (natives of Manaan) demand payment for the kolto they sent, but the Republic refuses to pay. They threaten to stop all kolto exports to the Republic if the bill is not paid. You are told to meet a man on Manaan, a Republican secret intelligence agent. You are given the coordinates, he will tell you all he managed to uncover so far. As the success of this mission is vital for all of the war effort, Drek and Ranvi will accompany you to ensure the positive outcome. {if Rancor = true}Not to mention your wounds from your encounter with the Rancor... Though you are fine, nobody wants your condition to worsen. The sooner you get the kolto to heal you, the better!{endif}

Manaan is an ocean planet with some artificial cities, some floating on the surface of the ocean, but most of them remain underwater.

The locals, the Selkath, are a fish like species, who has always preferred staying neutral in the conflicts of the galaxy and they maintain this stance to this very day.

They have had some conflicts with all other parties, like the Republic, the Ancient Sith Empire and so on. The Sith once tried to overthrow the local government to gain unlimited access to kolto, but they were discovered. The Republic once tried to create a secret underwater station to harvest kolto for itself and avoid paying the high price for it, yet they too were discovered and banned from any business activities on the planet's surface. The Separatists have tried to invade the planet with ****, but they were repelled by the local military forces. The locals don't trust any outsider and you are under heavy regulations, considering your behaviour, no hostilities are allowed on the planet against anybody.

The planet's only worthy resource is kolto, a healing serum that is far more powerful than bacta. Manaan is the only place where kolto occurs, so the Selkath have a monopoly on it, hence they fetch a high price for it, especially at war times like these. Therefore, the Republic has stopped buying kolto in larger quantities centuries ago, as bacta was way easier to come by, even if less effective. The recent war however, **** the Republic to reopen kolto imports, as they need every resource to overthrow the Separatists and end the war.

When you land on Manaan's surface capital, Ahto city, with the others, you head straight to the given coordinates to find your man. There is a human looking like he was waiting for somebody, leaning on a fence at the waterside. You go and try talking to him, but he doesn't look to welcoming.
