How badly did he screw up?
Mama Bear
David sat there, processing what had just happened. Sure, he knew from his pinching test that it was actually real, but to see his sister strip like that, just because he said it was a condition of being alone with him? 'Wild'. He sat, considering everything he could do, all the ways a teenage boy could entertain themselves.
"Amelia?" He heard, calling down the stairs. "David? What happened?" This time it was closer. Having apparently decided to abandon questioning his sister in whatever mood caused such a scene, a brief acknowledgment of health left her seeking answers from the next best source. Him. "David, what happened? She sounded embarrassed when I asked, but that was a *very* loud slam just for a little mistake. What happened?" Most of her speech was light-hearted, amused at the likely overreaction, yet the question at the end was spoken with enough presence to show the she was taking this completely seriously. Just in case. David grinned, giving a soft laugh.
"She uh," he paused, trying to think of the diplomatic approach, "wore the wrong clothes." he eventually said, a polite nod to decency whilst gesturing vaguely at his chest. At this, Jennifer laughed as well. Whilst certainly undesirable, accidental exposure amongst loved ones was more amusing than horrifying, and besides, with the loose pyjamas Amelia wore, it was unlikely anyone would even be able to tell. Eventually, her laughter died down, and she looked over at the kettle, murmuring what had, by know become a habit.
"You know," David spoke up, "I could help you drink less coffee. If you want."
