Making amends

The next day, I decided get Susan to move in with me.

"If Susan is gonna live there, I'm coming too." said Lindsey.

We arrived at my house.

"Mom, is it okay if Susan and Lindsey move in?" I asked.

"What? Why?" my mom asked.

"Susan is being abused and Lindsey-"

"I don't trust Gina to take care of Susan." said Lindsey, bluntly.

"Yeah, that. They can share my room."

"Okay." said mom.

Maybe, I've been too harsh with mom. I mean I was not an easy kid to raise. After Lindsey took Susan to my room, I talked with mom.

"Mom?" I asked. "I'm sorry for everything. I know I've been a terrible daughter."

"I've been disappointed but you're my daughter." mom said. "I still love you. I'll always be here for you."

I burst into tears and hugged my mom for the first time in years.

"I did so many bad things and nothing good! I promise I will make everything right. For you, for Tom, for Susan, for Cutie, for Lindsey."

"What has gotten into you?" my mom asked. "Is everything okay?"

"There's a girl at school." I said. "Her name is Marcie-"

"Marcie?!" asked my mom, freaked out. "Marcie Storm?"

"Yes."

"Dear god. Listen to me, Gina, you are in grave danger. You need to transfer to another school immediately!"

Did mom know Stupid Cow? Why is she acting so terrified? What did Stupid Cow do? Transferring to another seemed like the most sensible option. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option. Stupid Cow's orders for me to do jumping jacks at the school gate meant that even if I moved to a different school, I'd be **** to constantly return to Noname High.

I'd already seen a taste of Stupid Cow's cruelty when she betrayed Susan but was she really as bad as mom was making her out to be?
