Digit did a couple of spins through the air before stabilising out into a hover. Seriously, he picks now to finally run off?!

That quickly became the least of her concerns as her eyes refocused on her surroundings. The forest was coming alive around her, plants rising up all around in an uncharacteristically-menacing fashion. Bushes came together to form a lumbering monstrosity, which stood taller than the cabin and loomed threateningly over it.

The clucking of a quail drew Digit's eyes back to ground level. The bird was fleeing from a philosophical-nightmare of a creature, a squat biped covered in leaves in place of feathers. It appeared to be nothing more than a mouth mounted on two legs, yet somehow Digit got the unnerving feeling that it was staring at her...

When it started to run in her direction, Digit stopped analysing. She turned and flew in the opposite direction from the Snapdragon, away from the cabin, away from the wolf-girl. She was on her own now!

What should she do? Fly up into a tree? If the plants themselves were rising up to attack, then how could she trust any of them?

Ascend up out of its reach? That'd work for a little while, but then she'd just come back down exhausted. The air was only thick enough to let her hover indefinitely when she stayed within a couple of metres from the ground.

The pain in her finger was getting worse. Digit focused on it, embraced it, to drown out the pain of her wing muscles pushing her as fast as she could go. Her heart was beating like a hummingbird's, adrenaline coursing through her veins. Being seen by a monster, being chased by one... this was worlds apart from sneaking around them. This was a nightmare! She just wanted to wake up, wake up already!

She shouldn't have left that other girl behind, that was probably a bad call. Panic, a split-second of irrationality, had made that decision for her. Regret would have to come later though. If she didn't put her all into getting away right now, there might not be a later!

She dared to look behind her, turning over in midair to keep flying akin to a backstroke.
