Make a list

You jump when there's a knock on the door and you look up, taking a few seconds to remember where you are. You're sitting at the desk in your office at city hall and according to the clock on the wall it's almost noon. You rub your eyes, tired from last night's field trip to scout Kate Bosworth. After you had your fun and Pete the neighbor boy left, you had teleported back to the mansion for some sleep before you came into work as mayor. You weren't excited about it, but you feel that you have to at least keep up some appearances while you figure out how to deal with Alpha. You're also doing just the bare minimum, telling the city staff to keep your schedule light with like a few short public appearances.

"Yes?" you call out to the door.

Ashley enters, holding a bunch of folders and papers in her hands. "I have some papers for you to sign," she says.

You motion at a blank space on the corner of your desk. "Leave those papers and make sure I'm not disturbed for the rest of the day. If anyone asks, say I'm busy getting to work for the people of this city. Got it?" you say. Ashley nods and leaves, looking over her shoulder at you right before she closes the door behind her.

When Ashley's gone, you return your attention to your computer screen where you've been looking up all the actresses who have played Lois Lanes in movies and TV. You've even made a simple spreadsheet with their names so that you can work your way through the list. You cross up people like Margot Kidder and Noel Neill who have died from old age and you make a note that Kate is probably not the 1 you're looking for. That still leaves Amy Adams, Teri Hatcher, Erica Durance and Bitsie Tulloch on your list.
