Make a break for it.

Ducking to the side, you start to run for all you're worth. You barely take half a dozen steps before your it feels like a wrecking ball strikes you between the shoulder blades. Flying face first into the ground, you dimly register that the roar in your ears was the result of a shotgun blast fired from almost directly behind you.

You try to fight your way back to your feet, but your body doesn’t seem to want to move. Around you, you think you can hear shouting somewhere, but it's already getting so hard to concentrate on anything.

Your eye lids begin to grow heavy, but you can't even seem to muster the strength to keep them open.

Within seconds, your whole world fades to a fuzzy shade of black.
