Unable to help the man anymore. Brad needs to get out, now. But she blocks the path to the door. There's only one other way outside, an open window. But you're several floors off the ground, jumping out might as well be suicide. Still, it beats the alternative--if you die you won't infect anyone else. You pick up a coffee table and chuck it at the woman to distract her. Before she can react, you dash to the window and without a moment of hesitation you leap out of it as far as you can go. You clench your eyes shut as you feel the sensation of weightlessness and the icy wind slicing past you.
You hear screams.
The ground is close.
You prepare for impact, wishing you had enough time for your life to flash by before your eyes. But instead of landing on grass or concrete, you feel your body slap against water. Your body wrapped up tight in a ball, you sink at least a dozen feet. You have no idea which way is up or down so you hold your breath and let yourself float back to the surface. Finally, you feel the water pressure diminish and pop up into the crisp evening air. You gasp for breath and look around. You're in a swimming pool, several dozen other hotel guests gaping disbelievingly at your feat. "Don't go back inside the hotel!" you gasp when your heart slows long enough for you to steady your voice. "People are infected with the bimbo virus in there! Somebody call the police! I barely got out..."
A lifeguard pulls you out of the water. "Calm down there, amigo. That was a stupid thing you did there. What the hell is a bimbo virus, anyway?" You try to explain, but all you can do is cough out water. Well, you're safe now. Safer, anyway. You could find a taxi and leave the hotel, but you don't have anything with you. No luggage, no money, not even any identification. You could try to go back and get it. There's no other way to leave the country without them. But you just leapt out a window to save yourself. If you go back and find yourself cornered, you may not be so lucky.
